Lovers Electric
Lovers Electric are an Australian husband-and-wife pop music duo formed in Adelaide in 2005 by Eden Boucher on lead vocals, toy piano, stylophone and casio synthesiser; and David Turley on guitar, bass guitar, keyboards and vocals. History Lovers Electric members Eden Boucher and David Turley both grew up in Adelaide. At 17 they met when Turley was holidaying in the United Kingdom where Boucher was then working. They married two years later and established Lovers Electric in 2005 in Adelaide, the band name is "an ode to their natural chemistry on and off the stage." For most of their career they have been based in Europe, initially in the UK and then in Berlin. Liverpool Summer Pops
The Liverpool Summer Pops is a summer music event in Liverpool. Now being branded as "Liverpool Summer Pops Festival", the event features performances by bands and artists in one venue over consecutive nights, as well as some events in other 'fringe' venues. History The Summer Pops was established in 1993 by the Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Society under the Artistic Direction of conductor Carl Davis. The event was created to give the RLPO somewhere to play in the summers of 1993–1995 while the Philharmonic Hall was being refurbished. The event proved popular and was continued, with artists other than the RLPO performing, but by 2001 the costs of running the event had become too much for the RLPS, so Liverpool City Council asked promoter CMP Entertainment to run the event. Fuzz Townshend
John Richard Keith "Fuzz" Townshend (born 31 July 1964) is a British drummer, TV presenter of National Geographic Channel's ''Car SOS'' (also shown on Channel 4/More4), motoring journalist for ''Classic Car Weekly'', former technical editor of ''Practical Classics'', and mechanic. He is also honorary president of the Triumph Sports Six Club. He also had a solo music career from 1996 to 2002. The early years Townshend's Afro hair was unique in his junior school and so, at seven years of age, his school chums renamed him Fuzz. Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark (OMD) are an English electronic music, electronic band formed in Wirral Peninsula, Wirral, Merseyside, in 1978. The group consists of co-founders Andy McCluskey (vocals, bass guitar) and Paul Humphreys (keyboards, vocals), along with Martin Cooper (musician), Martin Cooper (keyboards, saxophone) and Stuart Kershaw (drums); McCluskey has been the only constant member. Casio CZ Synthesizers
The CZ series is a family of low-cost phase distortion synthesizers produced by Casio in the mid-1980s. Eight models of CZ synthesizers were released: the CZ-101, CZ-230S, CZ-1000, CZ-2000S, CZ-2600S, CZ-3000, CZ-5000, and the CZ-1. Additionally, the home-keyboard model CT-6500 used 48 phase distortion presets from the CZ line. The CZ synthesizers' price at the time of their introduction made programmable synthesizers affordable enough to be purchased by garage bands. Stylophone
The Stylophone is a miniature analog electronic keyboard musical instrument played with a stylus. Invented in 1967 by Brian Jarvis, it entered production in 1968, manufactured by Dubreq. Some three million Stylophones were sold, mostly as children's toys, but were occasionally used by professional musicians such as Rolf Harris, John Lennon, Kraftwerk and David Bowie. Original models It consists of a metal keyboard made of printed circuit board and played by touching it with a stylus. Each note on the keyboard is connected to a voltage-controlled oscillator via a different-value resistor, and touching the stylus to the keyboard thus closes a circuit.
