Love Sabah Party
The Love Sabah Party or in ms, Parti Cinta Sabah is a political party of Sabah, Malaysia. The PCS is a relatively new party and was among 20 new party registrations approved by the Registrar of Society in 2013. PCS joined together with the Sabah Progressive Party (SAPP) and State Reform Party (STAR) in the United Sabah Alliance (USA), but later left the coalition over disagreements. The party then signed political pact with the Sabah Native Co-operation Party in March 2018 with the ultimate goal to restore the rights, dignity and identity of the ‘Anak Negeri’ (native) or the firstborn in the state of Sabah. Anifah Aman took over as President from his outgoing predecessor Wilfred Bumburing who was elected as the new Deputy President after winning the position uncontested during the party 2nd Biennal General Meeting on 26 July 2020. Anifah Aman
Anifah bin Haji Aman @ Haniff Amman ( Jawi: عنيفه بن أمان @ حنيف أمان; born 16 November 1953) is a Malaysian politician. Presently he is the President of Love Sabah Party (PCS). He formerly had served as the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia from April 2009 to May 2018. Anifah is also the former Member of Parliament (MP) for Beaufort (1999-2004) and Kimanis (2004-2019) in Sabah. He was a former member of the United Malays National Organisation (UMNO) which is part of the Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition, until he quit to be an Independent politician in 2018. Personal life Anifah is married to Siti Rubiah Abdul Samad and has 3 sons. He is the younger half brother of former Chief Minister of Sabah, Musa Aman. Legislation Under the current legislation, all political parties (termed "Political Associations") must be registered under the Societies Act. Election expenses The Election Offences Act (1954) regulates the maximum expenses allowed for candidates vying for parliamentary seats and for state seats during the campaign period (excluding before the nomination day and after election day). The permissible campaign expenditure set by the Election Offences Act (1954) is RM100,000 per candidate for state seats and RM200,000 per candidate for federal seats. 2020 Sabah State Election
The 2020 Sabah state election took place on 26 September 2020 to elect all 73 elected members of the 16th Sabah State Legislative Assembly. The previous Assembly was dissolved on 30 July 2020. The state snap election was called prematurely after a political crisis arose. Both Shafie Apdal, incumbent Chief Minister and leader of Sabah Heritage Party (WARISAN) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) coalition government and Musa Aman, leader of Perikatan Nasional (PN) and Barisan Nasional (BN) coalition opposition claimed to have the majority to form the government. 2018 Sabah State Election
The 2018 Sabah state election took place on 9 May 2018 in concurrence with the 14th Malaysian general election. This election was to elect 60 members of the 15th Sabah State Legislative Assembly. The previous Assembly was dissolved on 7 April 2018. Barisan Nasional (BN), with the most seats, would be able to form a minority government alone. But BN and Homeland Solidarity Party (STAR) decided to form a group of 31 seats, which would allow them to form a coalition government. Musa Aman reinstalled as Chief Minister on 10 May 2018. The Sabah Progressive Party ( ms, Parti Maju Sabah, abbreviated SAPP) is a multiracial political party based in Sabah, Malaysia. It was registered on 21 January 1994 by dissidents led by former Sabah Chief Minister Datuk Yong Teck Lee from United Sabah Party. Formerly a component party in the ruling Barisan Nasional coalition, SAPP officially withdrew from BN in September 2008 to become independent. As of 2010, SAPP has two representatives in the national legislature and two in the Sabah State Assembly. In 2016, the party together with Homeland Solidarity Party formed the United Sabah Alliance.
