''Love Is Only Feeling'' is the sixteenth studio album (eighteenth overall) by Scottish singer/songwriter Donovan. It was released in West Germany (RCA PL 28472) in October 1981, in Italy in January 1982 ( Bubble Record, BLU 19610) and belatedly in the UK (RCA PL 28472) in 1983. History In 1981, Donovan entered the studio to record the second album of his German RCA contract. The resulting album, ''Love Is Only Feeling'', did not see a US release, but was released in the UK in 1983. The title track is a remake of "Someone's Singing" originally released on ''A Gift from a Flower to a Garden''. Donovan
Donovan Phillips Leitch (born 10 May 1946), known mononymously as Donovan, is a Scottish musician, songwriter, and record producer. He developed an eclectic and distinctive style that blended folk, jazz, pop, psychedelic rock and world music (notably calypso). He has lived in Scotland, Hertfordshire (England), London, California, and—since at least 2008—in County Cork, Ireland, with his family. Emerging from the British folk scene, Donovan reached fame in the United Kingdom in early 1965 with live performances on the pop TV series ''Ready Steady Go!''. ''Neutronica'' is the fifteenth studio album (seventeenth overall) by British singer/songwriter Donovan. It was released in West Germany (RCA PL 28429) in August 1980 and France (Barclay Records BA 253 200149) in 1980. Background After ''Donovan'' failed to chart in both the UK and US, Donovan once again left his long-time producer Mickie Most. He travelled throughout mainland Europe, bringing attention to world hunger and protesting against nuclear proliferation and weapons development. RCA signed him for a European record distribution deal, beginning with ''Neutronica'', released in 1980. The album did not receive distribution in the US or UK. Many of the songs Donovan wrote for ''Neutronica'' are directly related to his political views. ''Lady of the Stars'' is the seventeenth studio album, and nineteenth album overall, by the Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan. It was released in the UK (RCA PL 70060) i1983and the US (Allegiance Records AV 437) iJanuary 1984 History By 1983, Donovan's albums were receiving little distribution in the UK and none in the US. His popularity had steadily decreased through the 1970s and early 1980s and mainstream record companies were not convinced that Donovan's albums could generate enough record sales to warrant release. Donovan decided that to win over the record companies and reach his American and British fans, he would record new versions of both " Sunshine Superman" and " Season of the Witch" for inclusion on his next album. ''A Gift From a Flower to a Garden'' is the fifth album from Scottish singer-songwriter Donovan, and marks the first double-disc album of his career and one of the first box sets in folk music. It was released in the US (Epic Records L2N 6071 (monaural) / B2N 171 (stereo)) and the UK in December 1967 (Pye Records NPL 20000 (monaural) / NSPL 20000 (stereo)). At the same time, Epic Records also released each of the two records from ''A Gift From a Flower to a Garden'' as separate stand alone albums in the US. The first record was released as ''Wear Your Love Like Heaven'', and the second record was released as ''For Little Ones''. This was done to allow budgeting for the double-disc album package, which included a folder of the printed lyrics to the second disc with artwork, and a cover featuring an infrared photo of Donovan by Karl Ferris who was his and Jimi Hendrix's personal photographer (requiring six colour separations for printing, instead of the usual four separations). Danny Thompson
Daniel Henry Edward Thompson (born 4 April 1939) is an English multi-instrumentalist best known as a double bassist. He has had a long musical career playing with a large variety of other musicians, particularly Richard Thompson and John Martyn. For four years, between 1964 and 1967, he was a member of Alexis Korner's Blues Incorporated, led a trio that included guitarist John McLaughlin, and was a founding member of the British folk-jazz band Pentangle.
