Louisiana Highway 111
Louisiana Highway 111 (LA 111) is a state highway located in western Louisiana. It runs in a general north–south direction from U.S. Route 190 in Louisiana, U.S. Highway 190 (US 190) in Junction, Louisiana, Junction to Louisiana Highway 117, LA 117 northeast of Leesville, Louisiana, Leesville. The route parallels the Texas state line, located along the Sabine River (Texas–Louisiana), Sabine River, from a point north of Merryville, Louisiana, Merryville to the south end of the Toledo Bend Reservoir. Its direction then changes from north–south to east–west as it bends around the northwest side of the Leesville area, though this is not reflected on its directional banners. During this stretch, the highway crosses Vernon Lake and passes through the village of Anacoco, Louisiana, Anacoco, where it intersects U.S. Route 171, US 171. Louisiana Department Of Transportation And Development
The Louisiana Department of Transportation and Development (DOTD) is a state government organization in the United States, in charge of maintaining public transportation, roadways, bridges, canals, select levees, floodplain management, port facilities, commercial vehicles, and aviation which includes 69 airports, in the U.S. state of Louisiana. The agency has approximately five thousand personnel on staff and an operating budget of $2.3 billion. DOTD operations are run through nine district offices across the state. The current DOTD Secretary is Shawn D. Wilson, appointed in January 2016 by Governor John Bel Edwards. Other functions of the DOTD are Dams (Dam Safety Program), flood control (Floodplain Management, water resource management (wells), and maintaining state-run ferries and moveable bridge status.
