Louise Wright is a retired United States, American whitewater slalom, slalom canoeist who competed in the late 1960s. Louise Gustave Dorothea Hildegard Wright née Bauditz (1861–1935) was a Danish philanthropist, feminist and peace activist. From 1913, she headed the philanthropic ''Præmieselskabet for Plejemødre'', an association for foster mothers which supervised over 600 foster children. She was also an active member of '' Danske Kvinders Nationalråd'' (the National Women's Council) where she served as vice-president. In 1915, she was one of the founding members of the ''Danske Kvinders Fredskæde'', the Danish chapter of the Women's International League for Peace and Freedom, serving as a board member (1921–1924). Early life and family Born on 30 January 1861 in Fleckeby, Schleswig, Louise Gustave Dorothea Hildegard Bauditz was the daughter of the Carl Adolph Valentin Bauditz (1810–1895) and Elisabeth Carlsen (1838-1902). Louise Wright (born 5 September 1863) was a fashion illustrator. Four of her six siblings were also professional artists. They were all born in Leeds, and almost all of them later moved to London. Biography Wright was born in Leeds, Yorkshire, England, on 5 September 1863, and baptised in Holbeck Parish, Leeds, on 7 October 1863. She is sometimes confused with the Louise Wright (b. 1875 Philadelphia, USA) who married John W. Wright (18571933), the watercolourist and etcher. Wright's father was George Edward Wright (24 February 183411 November 1916), an accountant and Elizabeth Scott (c. 184031 May 1916), the daughter or Thomas Scott (born c. 1804), variously a railway engineer and a commission agent. George Edward and Elizabeth had married on 22 August 1859 in St' Jude's Church at Hunslet, Leeds, Yorkshire, England.
