Louis Courtois (illusionist)
Louis Courtois, also known as Papa Courtois (Waasmunster, 28 October 1785 - Paris, November 1859), was a Belgian illusionist Magic, which encompasses the subgenres of illusion, stage magic, and close up magic, among others, is a performing art in which audiences are entertained by tricks, effects, or illusions of seemingly impossible feats, using natural means. Louis learned magic from his father Jacques François, who had also performed in Belgium and the Netherlands. He started his own company with his wife, Marie-Jeanne Vangele, in 1812. Waasmunster
Waasmunster () is a municipality located in the Flemish province of East Flanders, in Belgium. The municipality only comprises the town of Waasmunster proper. In 2021, Waasmunster had a total population of 10,912. The total area is 31.93 km2. Roosenberg Abbey, founded in the 13th century, is situated here.
