Louie Clemente
Louie Clemente (born January 23, 1965) is a former drummer for the Bay Area thrash metal band Testament. He is known for being a part of Testament's original line-up. Testament Clemente joined Testament in 1983 when they were called Legacy, and appeared on their first five studio albums, ''The Legacy'' (1987), '' The New Order'' (1988), ''Practice What You Preach'' (1989), ''Souls of Black'' (1990) and '' The Ritual'' (1992), as well as the live EP '' Live at Eindhoven'' (1987). In 1992 he left the band at the same time as guitarist Alex Skolnick. Clemente moved to a more stable career outside music, but agreed to share drum duties in 2005 during the classic reunion line-up in London. Unable to perform touring duties, after not having played a full set for 13 years, Clemente never officially rejoined Testament, but has called the London show one of the top points of his life. ''The Ritual'' is the fifth studio album by American thrash metal band Testament, released in 1992 via Atlantic Records. This was the last studio album to feature drummer Louie Clemente and guitarist Alex Skolnick, until the latter rejoined the band in 2005, and it was also their first album to be released and distributed only by Atlantic, whereas Testament's previous four albums were co-released by Megaforce Records. ''Demonic'' is the seventh studio album by American thrash metal band Testament. Released in 1997 with original members Chuck Billy (vocals) and Eric Peterson (guitar), the record also features artists Derrick Ramirez (bass), Gene Hoglan (drums) and Glen Alvelais (guitar). Ramirez was previously the band's first guitarist (although here he is performing on bass guitar), and Alvelais had previously performed with Testament on the 1993 live album, ''Return to the Apocalyptic City''. ''Demonic'' was also Testament's only album with Hoglan for 15 years, until he rejoined and performed on the album '' Dark Roots of Earth'' (2012). Musically and lyrically, this album is very different from anything Testament had released before, marking a deviation from previous albums to a much darker death metal sound mirroring the album's exorcism theme. Gene Hoglan
Eugene Victor Hoglan II (born August 31, 1967) is an American drummer, acclaimed for his creativity in drum arrangements, including use of abstract devices for percussion effects and his trademark lengthy double-kick drum rhythms. Though his playing style is very technically demanding, he retains high accuracy at extreme tempos, earning him the nicknames "The Atomic Clock" and "Human Drum Machine". He is best known for his work with Dark Angel, Death, Strapping Young Lad, Devin Townsend, Fear Factory, Dethklok and Testament. Hoglan completed work on Dethklok's fourth album ''The Doomstar Requiem'', which was released in October 2013. Alex Skolnick
Alex Skolnick (born September 29, 1968) is an American musician. He is best known as the lead guitarist and one of the songwriters of the thrash metal band Testament and has played with several other bands, including The Alex Skolnick Trio, Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Savatage and the heavy metal supergroup Metal Allegiance. Skolnick began his musical career at the age of 15 when he joined the local Bay Area thrash metal band Legacy, which eventually became Testament, and performed on five albums with them, between '' The Legacy'' (1987) and '' The Ritual'' (1992). ''Souls of Black'' is the fourth studio album by American thrash metal band Testament. It was released on October 9, 1990. Production and musical style While ''Souls of Black'' saw Testament staying true to their thrash sound, it saw several changes in style to rather diverse styles of metal, continuing the melding of technical and progressive influences that began on its predecessor ''Practice What You Preach'', and preceding the traditional heavy metal sound heard in its subsequent album, '' The Ritual''.
