Louie Austen
Louie Austen (born Alois Luef on 19 September 1946) is an Austrian classically trained bar and jazz crooner who has been active in the electronic music scene. Biography Austen was born on 19 September 1946 in Vienna, Austria. Austen, among other cultural and musical activities, played a part in an adaption of Johann Nestroy's play "Höllenangst" at the Viennese Burgtheater and is regularly still performing every Saturday at the Cascade Bar of the Marriott hotel in Vienna. Since 1999, Louie Austen also is a performer in electronic music and has released many albums and singles in this genre he refers to as electrocrooning. His last album ''Iguana'' has been released on Klein Records in 2006 and his new double album "Last Man Crooning / Electrotaining You!" got released in 2010 along with two singles and is his 7th studio album on his own label LA Music – Louie Austen Music he had founded back in 2007 as a home for his musical releases. Kitty-Yo is a German record label specializing in quirky pop and electronica. It was founded in 1994 in Berlin by Raik Hölzel following the creation of an independent zine of the same name. The label began by publishing music for Surrogat, Patrick Wagner's group project, and got the attention of John Peel and Steve Albini. Since their inception, Kitty-Yo albums and singles have been distributed worldwide, gaining a college radio following in the United States. ''The Counterfeiters'' (german: Die Fälscher) is a 2007 Austrian-German drama film written and directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky. It fictionalizes Operation Bernhard, a secret plan by Nazi Germany during World War II to destabilize the United Kingdom by flooding its economy with forged Bank of England pound notes. The film centres on a Jewish counterfeiter, Salomon 'Sally' Sorowitsch, who is coerced into assisting the operation at the Sachsenhausen concentration camp. Stefan Ruzowitzky (born 25 December 1961) is an Austrian film director and screenwriter. Early life Ruzowitzky was born in Vienna. He studied drama and history at the University of Vienna and started directing music videos, for example for 'N Sync, and commercials. Johann Nestroy
Johann Nepomuk Eduard Ambrosius Nestroy (; 7 December 1801 – 25 May 1862) was a singer, actor and playwright in the popular Austrian tradition of the Biedermeier period and its immediate aftermath. He participated in the 1848 revolutions and his work reflects the new liberal spirit then spreading throughout Europe. Career Nestroy was born in Vienna, where he was a law student from 1817 to 1822, before abandoning his studies to become a singer.
