Loudias, Thessaloniki
Loudias ( el, Λουδίας) is a village of the Chalkidona municipality. Before the 1997 local government reform it was part of the community of Mikro Monastiri. The 2011 census recorded 789 inhabitants in the village. Its name is derived from the river of the same name that passes through it. Central Macedonia
Central Macedonia ( el, Κεντρική Μακεδονία, Kentrikí Makedonía, ) is one of the thirteen administrative regions of Greece, consisting of the central part of the geographical and historical region of Macedonia. With a population of almost 1.8 million, it is the second most populous in Greece after Attica. Thessaloniki ( el, Μητροπολιτική Περιοχή Θεσσαλονίκης ''Mitropolitiki Periohi Thessaloníkis'', ''Metropolitan Area of Thessaloniki'') is one of the regional units of Greece. It is part of the Region of Central Macedonia and its capital is the city of Thessaloniki. Geography The regional unit stretches from the Thermaic Gulf in the southwest to the Strymonic Gulf in the east. Two bodies of water are located in the north, Lake Koroneia in the heart of the regional unit and Lake Volvi in the east. There are farmlands throughout the west and southwest, with fewer in the northeast, north and along the Axios River valley. Mountainous areas include the Chortiatis in the west-central part, the Vertiskos in the north and parts of the Kerdylio mountains in the northeast. Chalkidona ( gr, Χαλκηδόνα) is a municipality in the Thessaloniki regional unit, Greece. The seat of the municipality is Koufalia. The town is a hub for trucking traffic around the Thessaloniki area. Vehicle Registration Plates Of Greece
Greek vehicle registration plates are composed of three letters and four digits per plate (e.g. ΑΑΑ–1000) printed in black on a white background. The letters represent the district (prefecture) that issues the plates while the numbers range from 1000 to 9999. As of 2004 a blue strip was added on the left showing the country code of Greece (GR) in white text and the Flag of Europe in yellow. Similar plates but of square size with numbers ranging from 1 to 999 are issued for motorcycles which exceed 50 cc in engine size. With the exception of Athens and Thessaloniki which are represented by just the first letter of the three, all other districts are represented by the first 2 letters. Mikro Monastiri ( el, Μικρό Μοναστήρι) is a village and a community of the Chalkidona municipality in Thessaloniki regional unit, Greece. Before the 2011 local government reform it was part of the municipality of Chalkidona, of which it was a municipal district. The 2011 census recorded 1,306 inhabitants in the village and 2,095 in the community. The community of Mikro Monastiri covers an area of 36.45 km2. Loudias
The Loudias ( el, Λουδίας) or Lydias (Λυδίας), popularly called Mavroneri (Μαυρονέρι, "Blackwater", from its Ottoman Turkish name ''Kara Asmak'' قره آصماق) is a river in Central Macedonia that flows through the regional units of Pella and Thessaloniki draining into the Thermaic Gulf through the Axios Delta National Park. Its drainage basin is . Changes in river flow In the past water from the Voras, Vermio and Paiko mountains, flowed into Giannitsa Lake and from there flowed to the Thermaic Gulf. The Loudias now collects water that comes mainly from Mount Paiko and the main source is close to Aravissos. A section of the river has been converted into an artificial channel (Channel 66-Moglenitsas), thus enabling the draining of Lake Giannitsa and its marshlands.
