Lou Veloso
Luciano "Lou" Mariñas Veloso (born January 7, 1948) is a Filipino actor, comedian, director and politician. He is known for his supporting roles in over 30 comedy films, which include ''Mga Kwento ni Lola Basyang'' (1985), ''Pulis Patola'' (1993), '' Ang Cute ng Ina Mo'' (2007), and '' Desperadas 2'' (2008). As an actor, Veloso has also performed in films such as ''Kabayo Kids'', released in 1990, in which he portrayed Loreiga, ''Buddy en Sol (Sine Ito!)'' Mongolian barbecue () is a stir fried dish that was developed by Wu Zhaonan in Taiwan in 1951. Meat and vegetables are cooked on large, round, solid iron griddles at temperatures of up to 300 °C (572 °F). Despite its name, the dish is not Mongolian and is only loosely related to barbecue. Origin Mongolian barbecue was created by the Taiwanese comedian and restaurateur Wu Zhaonan. A native of Beijing, Wu fled to Taiwan because of the Chinese Civil War, and opened a street food stall in , Taipei in 1951. He originally wanted to call the dish "Beijing barbecue", but because of political sensitivity with the city, which had just recently been designated as the capital of Communist China, he settled with "Mongolian barbecue" instead, even though it had no direct connection to Mongolia. 2022 Manila Local Elections
Local elections were held at Manila on May 9, 2022, as part of the Philippine general election. Held concurrently with the national elections, the electorate voted to elect a mayor, a vice mayor, thirty-six city council members and six district representatives to congress. Those elected took their respective offices on June 30, 2022, for a three-year-long term. 886,133 of 1,133,042 registered voters voted in this election. Vice mayor Honey Lacuna and representative Yul Servo were elected to the mayoralty and vice mayoralty respectively, with Lacuna becoming the first woman to be elected to the office.
