Lost Dogs
Lost Dogs are an American musical supergroup formed in 1991, comprising vocalists, songwriters, and guitarists from multiple Christian alternative rock bands. Their current lineup includes Terry Scott Taylor (Daniel Amos, the Swirling Eddies), Michael Roe (The 77s), Derri Daugherty and Steve Hindalong ( The Choir). The original lineup included Gene Eugene (Adam Again), who died in 2000. The band's eclectic blending of folk, blues, country, and rock has been characterized as "a sort of CCM equivalent to the Traveling Wilburys". The band released their debut album ''Scenic Routes'' in 1992 as a one-time collaboration. Lost Dogs concert performances are filled with between-song jokes and one-liners between the band members (usually poking fun at each other). Adam Again
Adam Again is an American Rock music, rock band that was active from 1982 until the 2000 death of founder, leader and vocalist Gene Eugene, with Riki Michele on vocals, Paul Valadez on bass, Jon Knox on drums, Greg Lawless on guitar. Dan Michaels often played saxophone. Thom Jurek of AllMusic has described them as "inventive and artfully canny." The band never achieved commercial viability and quit touring and recording together after March 20, 2000, when Eugene died in his recording studio, the "fabulous" The Green Room (recording studio), Green Room. Jimmy Abegg
Jimmy Abegg (born December 29, 1954), also known as Jimmy A, is an American musician who grew up in Alliance, Nebraska and is currently living in Nashville, Tennessee. In 1985, Abegg was a founding member of the progressive rock band Vector from Sacramento, California, which included Steve Griffith, Charlie Peacock, Aaron Smith (drums 1985) and Bruce Spencer (drums 1985–89). In the 1990s, he played as a solo musician, then joined Rich Mullins' A Ragamuffin Band and was also a member of Charlie Peacock's Acoustic Trio. He has created a variety of album artwork for artists such as Phil Keaggy, Michael W. Smith, and Chris Taylor among others. Abegg has written or co-written songs for Susan Ashton and Ji Lim. He completed a series for Vanderbilt Children's Hospital. Abegg also collaborated with Kevin Max on a collection of illustrated poems entitled ''At the Foot of Heaven'' in 1995. ''Mutt'' is an album by the band Lost Dogs, released on Fools of the World and Lo-Fidelity Records in 2004. For this record, band members chose three songs from their regular bands to remake them in the style of Lost Dogs. Mike Roe brought The 77s songs "It's So Sad" (from 1983's '' Ping Pong Over the Abyss'') and "The Lust, the Flesh, the Eyes and the Pride of Life" (from 1984's ''The 77s'') and his own solo track "Sunshine Down" (from 2001's ''Say Your Prayers''). Derri Daugherty brought the Choir songs, "Like a Cloud" (from 1994's '' Speckled Bird'') and "To Cover You" (from 1987's ''Wide Eyed Wonder''), plus the modern hymn "Beautiful Scandalous Night." "The Chipmunk Song (Christmas Don't Be Late)" is a novelty Christmas song written by Ross Bagdasarian (under the stage name of David Seville) in 1958. Bagdasarian sang and recorded the song, varying the tape speeds to produce high-pitched "chipmunk" voices, with the vocals credited to Alvin and the Chipmunks, Seville's cartoon virtual band. "Lord Protect My Child" is a song written by Bob Dylan, who recorded it at New York City's The Power Station in ten takes on May 2, 1983. The song is an outtake from Dylan's album ''Infidels'' that was later included in ''The Bootleg Series Volumes 1–3 (Rare & Unreleased) 1961–1991'' on Volume 3.
