Los Tres
Los Tres also known as The Tr3s or The 3, is a Chilean rock band. The band was formed in 1987 in Concepción by Álvaro Henríquez, Roberto Lindl, Francisco Molina and later Ángel Parra Jr. joined. They are one of the most influential rock en español bands. History The origins of the band go back to the Concepción of 1982, when three friends from the Charles de Gaulle school Álvaro Henríquez Petinelli, Roberto Titae Lindl Romero, and Francisco Molina Cornejo decided to form the band ''Dick Stones'', in which together with Gilles Marie, Rodolfo Lindl and Fernando Saavedra they appeared in bars, universities and local events to sing songs by Elvis Presley, Chuck Berry and Gene Vincent. Later Henriquez and Titae would join drummer Andrés Valdovinos to form the band Escalimetros. Los Prisioneros ("The Prisoners") were a Chilean rock/pop band formed in San Miguel, Santiago, in 1983. They are considered one of the most important Chilean bands, and arguably the strongest musical influences that Chile has made to Latin American music. In addition, they are considered pioneers of ''Rock en español'' (Rock in Spanish) by Latin American media and musicians, and the band with strongest socio-political impact in Chile. ''Los Tres MTV Unplugged'' is an MTV Unplugged live acoustic album by Chilean rock band Los Tres, released on April 15, 1996, through Sony Music Chile. The album was the band's first live album as well as the first MTV Unplugged album ever released by a Chilean band. It was recorded on September 14, 1995, at Post Edge Studios, Miami, United States and features appearances from musicians Cuti Aste and Toño Restucci. The album contains eleven songs from their previous studio albums alongside the original song "Traje Desastre" and three cover versions of songs by Chilean musician Roberto Parra. It is the band's most commercially successful album, going platinum and selling 150,000 copies within its first three months. ''Fome'' (Chilean slang for "boring") is the fourth studio album by Chilean rock band Los Tres, released on June 25, 1997, through Sony Music. The album comprises fifteen tracks and was produced by the band alongside Joe Blaney, who had previously worked with them on ''MTV Unplugged'' (1996). The cover for the album contains an advertisement from the Spanish encyclopedia ''Monitor'', released during the sixties. The album has been considered as the best from the band's discography by many critics as well as by Álvaro Henríquez himself. The Chilean edition of ''Rolling Stone'' included the album in their 50 Best Chilean Album list, released in 2008, placing it at number 29. It has sold almost 40,000 copies to date. The album contains ten songs, all produced by Carlos Necochea and written by the members of the band, mainly Álvaro Henríquez.
