Lorraine Regional Natural Park (French language, French: ''Parc naturel régional de Lorraine'') is a protected area of pastoral countryside in the Grand Est Regions of France, region of northeastern France, in the historic region of Lorraine. The park covers a total area of . The parkland is split in two non-contiguous parcels of land between the cities of Metz and Nancy, France, Nancy, and spans the three Departments of France, departments of Meuse (department), Meuse, Meurthe-et-Moselle, and Moselle (department), Moselle. According to the World Database on Protected Areas, it is an IUCN protected area categories, IUCN category V area. Ancient ruins and modern monuments are common throughout the area. The land was officially designated a regional natural park in 1974. The park is crossed by the LGV Est high speed rail line, with large viaducts. Whitebeam
The whitebeams are members of the family Rosaceae, comprising subgenus ''Aria'' (or, according to some authorities, its own genus) of genus ''Sorbus'', and hybrids involving species of this subgenus and members of subgenera ''Sorbus'', ''Torminaria'' and ''Chamaemespilus''. They are deciduous trees with simple or lobed leaves, arranged alternately. They are related to the rowans (''Sorbus'' subgenus ''Sorbus''), and many of the endemic restricted-range apomictic microspecies of whitebeam in Europe are thought to derive from hybrids between ''S. aria'' and the European rowan ''S. aucuparia''; some are also thought to be hybrids with the wild service tree ''S. torminalis'', notably the service tree of Fontainebleau ''Sorbus latifolia'' in French woodlands. Bar-le-Duc
Bar-le-Duc (), formerly known as Bar, is a commune in the Meuse département, of which it is the capital. The department is in Grand Est in northeastern France.
