Lori Den Hartog
Lori Den Hartog () is an American politician serving as a member of the Idaho Senate from the 22nd district. She assumed office on December 1, 2014. Early life and education Den Hartog was born in Escondido, California and graduated from Nampa Christian High School. She earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in business administration and public administration from Dordt College. Career Outside of politics, Den Hartog has worked in land use, transportation planning, and grant administration. She was elected to the Idaho Senate in November 2014 and assumed office on December 1, 2014. From 2017 to 2020, Den Hartog served as vice chair of the Senate Agricultural Affairs Committee. In the 2021–2022 legislative session, she is chair of the Senate Transportation Committee. Personal life Den Hartog and her husband, Scott, were married in 2002. They have three children. The Idaho House of Representatives is the lower chamber of the Idaho State Legislature. It consists of 70 representatives elected to two-year terms. The state is divided into 35 districts, each of which elects two representatives to separate seats. It meets at the Idaho State Capitol in Boise, Idaho, in the State Capitol Building. The ''Idaho Statesman'' is the daily newspaper of Boise, Idaho, in the western United States. It is owned by The McClatchy Company. History The paper was first published as the ''Idaho Tri-Weekly Statesman'' on July 26, 1864, by James S. Reynolds; it began publication from a log cabin on the current site of Boise City Hall. Reynolds owned and operated the paper for its first eight years, selling to Judge Milton Kelly in 1872. Kelly's 17-year run ended in 1888, with the expansion to daily publication, and a name change: The ''Idaho Daily Statesman''. That summer, Kelly sold the paper to the Cobb family, which went on to run the paper for 70 years. Calvin Cobb published the ''Statesman'' until his death in 1928, when control was transferred to his daughter Margaret Cobb Ailshie. Russell Mark Fulcher (born March 9, 1962) is an American businessman and politician serving as the U.S. representative for Idaho's 1st congressional district since 2019. A member of the Republican Party, he represented the 21st district in the Idaho Senate from 2005 to 2012 and the 22nd district from 2012 until 2014. Fulcher ran for governor of Idaho in 2014 but narrowly lost the nomination to Butch Otter.
