This is a listing of the shorts, feature films, television programs, and television specials in the '' Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' cartoon series, extending from 1929 through the present day. Altogether, 1,002 animated shorts alone were released under the Looney Tunes and Merrie Melodies banners from the 1930s through the 1960s (1000 official and 2 cut downs). From the beginning to the present day, 1,041 theatrical shorts have been created. 1920s–1930s A total of 270 shorts were produced and released during the 1930s. Additionally at least one short was produced in the 1930s, but never publicly released in theaters. A private Warner Bros end-of-year blooper reel with animated sequences featuring Porky Pig was included. This reel was never screened in theaters. Puppetoons
Puppetoons is a series of animated puppet films made in Europe (1930s) and in the United States (1940s) by George Pal. They were made using replacement animation: using a series of different hand-carved wooden puppets (or puppet heads or limbs) for each Animation frame, frame in which the puppet moves or changes expression, rather than moving a single puppet, as is the case with most stop motion puppet animation. They were particuarly made from 1932-1948, in both Europe and the US. History The Puppetoons series of animated puppet films were made in Europe in the 1930s and in the United States in the 1940s. The series began when George Pal made an advertising film using "dancing" cigarettes in 1932, which led to a series of theatrical advertising shorts for Philips Radio in the Netherlands. The ''Looney Tunes Golden Collection'' is a series of six four-disc DVD box sets from Warner Home Video, each containing about 60 ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' animated shorts. The series began on October 28, 2003, and ended on October 21, 2008. Road Runner A Go-Go
''Road Runner a Go-Go'' is a 1965 Warner Bros. ''Merrie Melodies'' cartoon directed by Chuck Jones, Maurice Noble and Tom Ray. It is one of three cartoons reused from the unsold pilot ''Adventures of the Road Runner'' (the others were ''To Beep or Not to Beep'' and ''Zip Zip Hooray!''). The short was released on February 1, 1965, and stars Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. Milt Franklyn was credited as the musician with the correct spelling of his name. Unlike ''To Beep or Not to Beep'', this cartoon doesn't feature an entirely new soundtrack by Bill Lava, due to budget cuts. The cartoon includes the sequence of ''Adventures of the Road Runner'' with Wile E. Coyote speaking to the viewing audience. To Beep Or Not To Beep
''To Beep or Not to Beep'' is a Merrie Melodies animated short starring Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner. Released December 28, 1963, the cartoon was written by Chuck Jones and John Dunn, and directed by Jones (Maurice Noble and Tom Ray receive credit as co-directors). This is the penultimate Road Runner/Coyote short that Chuck Jones directed at Warner Bros. during the original "classic" era. This is also the final Warner Bros. cartoon released in 1963. The title is a play on the famous line in William Shakespeare's play ''Hamlet''. This installment of the Coyote-Road Runner series marked the first time that no Latin-esque terms are used to indicate who each character is. Almost all of the footage was originally made as part of a 1962 television pilot named ''Adventures of the Road Runner''. Chuck Jones
Charles Martin Jones (September 21, 1912 – February 22, 2002) was an American animator, director, and painter, best known for his work with Warner Bros. Cartoons on the ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' series of shorts. He wrote, produced, and/or directed many classic animated cartoon, Animated Cartoon shorts starring Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner, Pepé Le Pew, and Porky Pig, among others. Jones started his career in 1933 alongside Tex Avery, Friz Freleng, Bob Clampett, and Robert McKimson at the Leon Schlesinger Production's Termite Terrace studio, where they created and developed the Looney Tunes characters. During the World War II, Second World War, Jones directed many of the ''Private Snafu'' (1943–1946) shorts which were shown to members of the United States military. After his career at Warner Bros. ended in 1962, Jones started MGM Animation/Visual Arts, Sib Tower 12 Productions and began producing cartoons for Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, ... Adventures Of The Road Runner
Wile E. Coyote and the Road Runner are a duo of cartoon characters from the ''Looney Tunes'' and ''Merrie Melodies'' series of animated cartoons, first appearing in 1949 in the theatrical cartoon short ''Fast and Furry-ous''. In each episode, the cunning, devious and constantly hungry coyote repeatedly attempts to catch and subsequently eat the Road Runner, but is successful in catching the Road Runner (but not eating it) on only extremely rare occasions. Instead of his animal instincts, the coyote uses absurdly complex contraptions (generally in the manner of Rube Goldberg) to try to catch his prey, which comically backfire, with the coyote often getting injured in slapstick fashion. ''My Dream Is Yours'' is a 1949 Technicolor musical romantic comedy film starring Jack Carson, Doris Day, and Lee Bowman. Friz Freleng
Isadore "Friz" Freleng (August 21, 1905May 26, 1995), credited as I. Freleng early in his career, was an American animator, cartoonist, director, producer, and composer known for his work at Warner Bros. Cartoons on the ''Looney Tunes'' and '' Merrie Melodies'' series of cartoons. In total he created more than 300 cartoons. He introduced and/or developed several of the studio's biggest stars, including Bugs Bunny, Porky Pig, Tweety, Sylvester, Yosemite Sam (to whom he was said to bear more than a passing resemblance), and Speedy Gonzales. The senior director at Warners' Termite Terrace studio, Freleng directed more cartoons than any other director in the studio (a total of 266), and is also the most honored of the Warner directors, having won five Academy Awards and three Emmy Awards.
