Longroy-Gamaches Station
Gare de Longroy-Gamaches (Longroy-Gamaches Station) is a French railway station in the ''commune'' of Longroy in the Seine-Maritime department near Gamaches in the Somme department. The station is served by TER Hauts-de-France trains from Beauvais to Le Tréport-Mers. History The Gare de Longroy-Gamaches formerly provided a connection to Longpré-les-Corps-Saints. This single-track line opened on 9 May 1872 and was degraded on 10 November 1993. Between Longpré-les-Corps-Saints and Longroy-Gamaches it served Bettencourt-Rivière, Airaines, Allery, Wiry-au-Mont, Forceville, Oisemont, Cerisy-Buleux, Martainneville– Saint-Maxent, Vismes-au-Val, Maisnières and Gamaches. Épinay-Villetaneuse–Le Tréport-Mers Railway
The railway from Épinay-Villetaneuse to Le Tréport-Mers is a French 173-kilometre long railway line, that connects Paris to Le Tréport on the English Channel coast. It was opened in several stages between 1872 and 1877. Route The Épinay-Villetaneuse–Le Tréport-Mers railway begins near the Épinay-Villetaneuse station, where it branches off the railway from Paris to Pontoise. It winds in generally northern direction to the Montsoult-Maffliers station, where the line to Luzarches branches off. It crosses the river Oise in Persan, and continues in northwestern direction towards Beauvais. It passes through Abancourt. From Aumale it follows the river Bresle downstream until it reaches its terminus Le Tréport-Mers station, near the beach resort towns Le Tréport and Mers-les-Bains. Airaines
Airaines () is a commune in the Somme department in Hauts-de-France in northern France. Geography The commune is situated north west of Amiens, about south of Abbeville, at the junction of the D901 and D936 roads. Hamlets and neighbourhoods * Dourier : Originally a hamlet to the northeast of the town, now a suburb. * Dreuil-Hamel : Stretching out to the west, sprinkled with orchards and meadows, this commune was once separate. By decree of 26 September 1972 it was joined with Airaines in a simple merger. Geography The commune is situated on the D22 and D190 crossroads, some southwest of Abbeville. The commune is traversed by the river Vimeuse, a small tributary of the Bresle. Vismes
Vismes () is a commune in the Somme department in Hauts-de-France in northern France. Geography Vismes is situated 10 miles(16 km) southwest of Abbeville, on the D190 road History The chateau of Vismes was built by the seigneurs of Vismes, as documented by Théobald in 1066 (the name of Vismes could then be written with or without the final "s"). The Marquis de Belleval added: "the ruins still stood in the last century". The castle was destroyed by John of Gaunt, 1st Duke of Lancaster in 1372. The Seigneurie of Vismes passed to the house of Cayeu in the 14th century and then to that of Monchy in the following century, until 1785 when André de Monchy died.
