Longfeng Fishing Port
The Longfeng Fishing Port () is a fish harbor in Zhunan Township, Miaoli County, Taiwan. History The steel bridge which spans over the port was constructed in 2008. Geology The sea offshore of the port contains many reefs, making it an area rich of fish population of different species. Zhunan
Zhunan Township is an urban township in northern Miaoli County, Taiwan. Its city centre forms a continuous urban area with Toufen. Name Literally, ''Zhúnán'' () means "bamboo south" but in this context, ''zhú'' is short for "Hsinchu". Thus, Zhunan lies south of Hsinchu (''cf.'' Zhubei which lies north 'běi''of Hsinchu). A previous name of the area was ''Tiong-káng'' (), literally "central port", a name preserved in Zhonggang (), one of the 25 constituent villages of Zhunan. The present name was adopted under Japanese rule in 1920. Miaoli County
Miaoli County (Mandarin Pinyin: ''miáo lì xiàn''; Hakka PFS: ''Mèu-li̍t-yen''; Hokkien POJ: ''Biâu-le̍k-koān'' or ''Miâu-le̍k-koān'') is a county in western Taiwan. Miaoli is adjacent with Hsinchu County and Hsinchu City to the north, Taichung to the south, and borders the Taiwan Strait to the west. Miaoli is classified as a county in central Taiwan by the National Development Council, while the Taiwan Central Weather Bureau classifies Miaoli as a county in northern Taiwan. The Fisheries Agency (FA; ) is the agency of the Council of Agriculture of the Taiwan (ROC) responsible for all matters relating to fisheries. History In May 1998, the amendment of the Regulation for the Organization of the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan and the bill for the Regulation for the Organization of the Fisheries Agency, the Council of Agriculture, Executive Yuan were adopted by the Legislative Yuan and enacted by President Lee Teng-hui on 24 June 1998 for promulgation. The agency was then officially established on 1 August 1998. On 1 July 1999, the Taiwan Fisheries Bureau of the Department of Agriculture and Forestry of Taiwan Provincial Government was merged with the agency.
