Lone Star Mustangs
The Lone Star Mustangs are a team of the Women's Football Alliance. Based in Bedford Texas (part of the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex), the Mustangs play their home games at Pennington Field (the campus was formerly M.B. Smiley High School). History The Lone Star Mustangs played their first full season of women's full contact football in 2009 and ended the season at 6-2 after playing the H-Town Texas Cyclones and the Austin Outlaws and missed the playoffs by merely 1 point. In 2010, the second full season of play for the Mustangs, they won the Women's Football Alliance National Championship. In 2009, the Mustangs were proud to have first team Women's Football Alliance All-Americans Ebony Jones at defensive end and Alex Harvey at defensive tackle. Women's Football Alliance
The Women's Football Alliance (WFA) is a professional full-contact Women's American football tackle minor league that began play in 2009. It is the largest 11-on-11 football league for women in the world, and the longest running active women's football league in the U.S. Since 2016, the league has operated with three competitive levels: Pro, Division 2 and Division 3. The league is owned and operated by Jeff King and Lisa Gibbons King of Exeter, California. Lisa King is also a wide receiver for the WFA's, Los Angeles Warriors. In addition to operating annual national championship seasons in the United States, the league also operates the WFA International Program which organizes international competitions for its own Team United and Team World against each other and all-star teams from other nations. H-Town Texas Cyclones
The H-Town Texas Cyclones were a team of the Independent Women's Football League. Based in Houston, Texas, Houston, the Cyclones played their home games at Reggie Grob Stadium on the campus of the Spring Branch Independent School District. The Cyclones were the second IWFL team based in Houston, after the Houston Energy. However, while the Energy competes in Tier I, the Cyclones were expected to compete in Tier II. Both teams were to compete for talent and fans with the Women's Football Alliance's Houston Power. In their inaugural season, when they played in the National Women's Football Association the Cyclones defeated the West Michigan Mayhem 39-10 to win the NWFA Championship, the league's last before folding. The North Texas Knockouts were a team of the Women's Spring Football League set to play in the WSFL's 2012 season. The Knockouts will not be playing this season. Memphis Soul (WFA)
The Memphis Dynasty is a team of the United States Women's Football League which began play for the 2010 season in the Women's Football Alliance. Based in Memphis, Tennessee, home games were played at Evangelical Christian School. For its inaugural season, the Dynasty was known as the Memphis Soul, in the season thereafter, they went without a nickname. In 2012, the team adopted the nickname "Dynasty". After 3 seasons in the WFA, the team moved to the WSFL and continued to play as the Dynasty until the end of the 2014 season. At the end of the 2014 season, the team decided to disband. There were four players that played with the franchise all five years, Ashley Bembow-Scarbough, Terri Gilchrist, Jessica (JP) Plunkett, and Sharon Tatum.
