Lone Peak High School
Lone Peak High School (LPHS) is a public high school in Highland, Utah, United States. Part of the Alpine School District, in northern Utah County, it was built in 1997 to serve students in the cities of Alpine, Highland, and Cedar Hills. Lone Peak High School was given athletic 5A status beginning at the 2005-2006 school year. However, it has since been given a 6A status. The school mascot is a knight. Academics Lone Peak offers several honors classes and AP courses, as well as off-campus classes at nearby colleges such as Brigham Young University, University of Utah, Utah Valley University, and business and technical colleges. Athletics Lone Peak sponsors several interscholastic teams for both boys and girls: basketball, cross country, soccer, swimming, tennis, golf, and track and field. State Route 129 (SR-129) is a state highway in northern Utah County, Utah, United States. The route spans (mostly) north-south for to connect U.S. Route 89 in Utah, U.S. Route 89 (US-89) on the Lindon, Utah, Lindon-Pleasant Grove, Utah, Pleasant Grove line with Utah State Route 92, SR-92 in Highland, Utah, Highland. A drill team can be one of four different entities: # A military drill team is a marching unit that performs routines based on military foot or exhibition drills. Scholastic wrestling, also known in the United States as folkstyle wrestling, is a style of amateur wrestling practiced at the high school and middle school levels in the United States. This wrestling style is essentially collegiate wrestling with some slight rule modifications. According to an athletics participation survey taken by the National Federation of State High School Associations, boys' wrestling ranked eighth in terms of the number of schools sponsoring teams, with 9,445 schools participating in the 2006–07 school year. Also, 257,246 boys participated in the sport during that school year, making scholastic wrestling the sixth most popular sport among high school boys. Track and field is a sport that includes athletic contests based on running, jumping, and throwing skills.
