Locket (1986 Film)
''Locket'' is a 1986 Indian Hindi-language action film, produced by Tahir Hussain on T.V. Films banner and directed by Ramesh Ahuja. Starring Jeetendra, Rekha, Vinod Mehra and music composed by Bappi Lahiri. Plot The film revolves around a valuable heritage treasure belonging to a royal dynasty. Its heritor Rajasaab is surrounded & slaughtered by his spiteful cousin Tagore Veer Pratap Singh. Before dying, Raja Saab entrusts the guardianship of the route map and his heir Rajkumar Anil Pratap Singh to his true blue Diwan Sardarilal. Diwan makes the map into two pieces and hides it in two identical lockets. The first he places to Rajkumar and the second is given to his son Shankar. In that chaos, Diwan is clutched by Veer Pratap, Rajkumar is rescued by a few villagers, and Diwan’s daughter Sonia is adopted by a wealthy couple whereas Shankar remains with his mother Lakshmi. Jeetendra
Ravi Kapoor ( ; born 7 April 1942), known mononymously by his screen name Jeetendra, is an Indian actor who is known for his work in Hindi cinema. He also serves as the chairman of the Balaji Telefilms and Balaji Motion Pictures. Early life Jeetendra was born in a Punjabi Khatri family as Ravi Kapoor in Amritsar, Punjab, to Amarnath and Krishna Kapoor, whose business dealt with imitation jewellery, supplied to film industry. He attended St. Sebastian's Goan High School in Girgaum, Mumbai with his friend Rajesh Khanna and then studied at Siddharth College in Mumbai. While supplying jewellery to V. Shantaram, he was cast as Sandhya's character's double in the 1959 movie ''Navrang''. Career Jeetendra's active acting career spanned the 1960s to the 1990s. Jeetendra got his first major breaks with V. Shantaram's '' Geet Gaya Patharon Ne'' (1964) and ''Boond Jo Ban Gayee Moti'' (1967). Jagdeep
Syed Ishtiaq Ahmed Jaffrey (29 March 1939 – 8 July 2020), better known by his stage name Jagdeep, was an Indian actor and comedian who appeared in more than 400 films. He played Soorma Bhopali in ''Sholay'' (1975), Machchar in ''Purana Mandir'' (1983), Salman Khan's dad in ''Andaz Apna Apna'' (1994) and directed the movie ''Soorma Bhopali'', with his character as the protagonist. Jagdeep started his film career as a child artist extra in B. R. Chopra's '' Afsana'', then went on to do films as a child artist in films like ''Ab Dilli Door Nahin'', K. A. Abbas's '' Munna'', Guru Dutt's ''Aar Paar'', Bimal Roy's ''Do Bigha Zamin'' and AVM's ''Hum Panchhi Ek Daal Ke''. Shailendra Singh (singer)
Shailendra Singh is an Indian playback singer and actor. He sang several Hindi and a few Marathi songs during the late 1970s and early 1980s. He was very close to Mehmood Ali. Early life Shailendra Singh was born on 4 October 1952 in Mumbai, India to a Punjabi family. He studied at Hill Grange High School at Peddar Road, and did his graduation from St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. He then joined the Film and Television Institute of India in Pune to train as an actor. He also learnt classical Hindustani music from a Guru. He first break as a playback singer in the film, Bobby, during his second year at the FTII. Career Shailendra Singh had many hit songs to his credit. Raj Kapoor gave Singh a break when he signed him for ''Bobby''. The song "Main Shayar To Nahin" became a big hit. His song "Humne Tumko Dekha" from the film '' Khel Khel Mein'' rocked the entire nation. Mahendra Kapoor
Mahendra Kapoor (9 January 1934 – 27 September 2008) was an Indian playback singer. In a long career spanning decades, his repertoire included popular songs such as ''Chalo ekbaar phir se Ajnabi ban jayen hum dono'' ( Gumrah) and ''Neele Gagan ke tale'' (Hamraaz). His name however became most closely associated with patriotic songs including Mere Desh Ki Dharti in Manoj Kumar's film Upkaar. He always considered Mohammad Rafi as his guru and cited many times that he was the best singer to be ever born. In 1972, he was awarded the Padma Shri by the Government of India. He lent his voice to actor Manoj Kumar in most of his films and had a lengthy association with director-producer Baldev Raj Chopra. Mohammed Rafi
Mohammed Rafi (24 December 1924 – 31 July 1980) was an Indian playback singer and musician. He is considered to have been one of the greatest and most influential singers of the Indian subcontinent. Rafi was notable for his versatility and range of voice; his songs varied from fast peppy numbers to patriotic songs, sad numbers to highly romantic songs, qawwalis to ghazals and bhajans to classical songs. He was known for his ability to mould his voice to the persona and style of the actor lip-syncing the song on screen in the movie. He received six Filmfare Awards and one National Film Award. In 1967, he was honored with the Padma Shri award by the Government of India. In 2001, Rafi was honoured with the "Best Singer of the Millennium" title by Hero Honda and Stardust magazine. Usha Uthup Iyer (born 7 November 1947) is an Indian pop, filmi, jazz, and playback singer who sang songs in the late 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. "Darling", which she recorded with Rekha Bhardwaj for the film ''7 Khoon Maaf'', won the Filmfare Award for Best Female Playback Singer in 2012. She also sang the title song for the show ''Sarabhai vs Sarabhai'' in its first season. Personal life Usha was born into a Tamil Iyer family in Mumbai in 1947. Her father was Vaidyanath Someshwar Sami Iyer who hailed from Chennai, in Tamil Nadu. She studied at St. Agnes High School, Byculla.
