''Locked out from the Inside'' is the third studio album by Manchester-based alternative rock band Nine Black Alps, released on October 5, 2009. The album was released digitally with the purchase of tour tickets on August 6, 2009. The album was released on the band's own Lost House Records label. ''Locked Out from the Inside'' was preceded by the single "Buy Nothing" (which included the only b-side "Never Wonder Why"). The album was recorded at Bryn Derwen Studios in Bethesda, Gwynedd, North Wales with producer Dave Eringa. Nine Black Alps
Nine Black Alps are an English alternative rock band, formed in 2003 in Manchester. The band consists of vocalist-guitarist Sam Forrest, guitarist David Jones, drummer James Galley and bassist Karl Astbury. Taking their name from "The Couriers" poem by Sylvia Plath, the band came to prominence with the release of their debut album, '' Everything Is'' in 2005. Following the release of the band's second album, '' Love/Hate'' (2007), the band parted ways with Island Records, and self-released their third studio album, '' Locked Out from the Inside'' in 2009. In 2011, bassist Martin Cohen departed the band to pursue a solo career under the name Milk Maid. Grunge
Grunge (sometimes referred to as the Seattle sound) is an alternative rock genre and subculture that emerged during the in the American Pacific Northwest state of Washington, particularly in Seattle and nearby towns. Grunge fuses elements of punk rock and heavy metal, but without punk's structure and speed. The genre featured the distorted electric guitar sound used in both genres, although some bands performed with more emphasis on one or the other. Like these genres, grunge typically uses electric guitar, bass guitar, drums and vocals. Grunge also incorporates influences from indie rock bands such as Sonic Youth. ''Sirens'' is the fourth studio album by English alternative rock band Nine Black Alps, released on 8 October 2012 on Brew Records. The album is the first to feature bassist Karl Astbury, following the departure of Martin Cohen in 2011. Bethesda, Gwynedd
Bethesda (; ) is a town and community on the River Ogwen and the A5 road on the edge of Snowdonia, in Gwynedd, north-west Wales. It is the fifth-largest community in Gwynedd. History The settlement's ancient name was Cilfoden, formerly known as Glanogwen. In 1823, the Bethesda Chapel was built and the town subsequently grew around and later named after it. The chapel was rebuilt in 1840. The town grew around the slate quarrying industries; the largest of the local quarries is the Penrhyn Quarry.
