Load Records Catalog
Load Records was an independent record label based out of Providence, Rhode Island, specializing in noise and experimental music. Load Records was started in 1993 by Ben McOsker in order to release a 7-inch record for the band Boss Fuel. The label quickly became the most prominent source for noise music coming out of the Providence scene, issuing over 100 releases until folding in 2017. Bands such as Lightning Bolt, Noxagt, Sightings, Landed, Arab on Radar, Brainbombs, The White Mice, and Pink and Brown released records through Load. Load Records
Load Records was an American experimental music-oriented independent record label based out of Providence, Rhode Island. "Load Records might possibly be in possession of the world's most challenging record roster," writes Mark Hensch of Thrash Pit. "Rounded out by some of the most uncompromising noise/avant-garde/experimental artists in all of music's sordid underbelly, Load has always prided itself on remaining outside of common taste and maybe even common sense." Mat Brinkman (born 1973 in Austin, Texas) is an American artist and electronic musician. Also known as Matt Brinkman, Meerk Puffy, Mystery Brinkman, Brinkman, Brinkmangler, and Mucid Cuspidor. ''Lightning Bolt'' is the debut album by noise rock band Lightning Bolt. Originally, five of the tracks on the album were recorded in the studio, however, with the exception of one track, the band discarded these and instead put low fidelity live versions of the songs on the record. A 50-minute "companion cassette" entitled ''Zone'' was available for three dollars via direct mail order when the record was originally released. This material appears in the form of two bonus tracks included on the CD release. The original vinyl issue was limited to 750 copies and had the artwork that is represented on this page. The more common CD reissue contained slightly different artwork. Six Finger Satellite (a.k.a. 6FS) are an American synthesizer-based post-hardcore band, based in Providence, Rhode Island, United States. History The band formed in 1990 around a line-up of J. Ryan (singer/keyboards), John MacLean (guitar), Peter Phillips (guitar), Chris Dixon (bass), and Rick Pelletier (drums). They infamously submitted an "alternative rock"-styled demo to Sub Pop Records, who subsequently signed them under the impression that this represented the band's musical intentions. The demo was the four-song ''Weapon'' EP in 1992.
