Llwydiarth is a small village in Powys, Wales. It is located near Lake Vyrnwy. The village is mostly made up of a caravan park and holiday centre. It does however have a church dedicated to Saint Mary and a sub post office with a filling petrol station. The village is located near Llanfihangel. Montgomeryshire (UK Parliament Constituency)
Montgomeryshire ( cy, Sir Drefaldwyn) is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. Created in 1542, it elects one Member of Parliament (MP), traditionally known as the knight of the shire, by the first-past-the-post system of election. The Montgomeryshire Senedd constituency was created with the same boundaries in 1999 (as an Assembly constituency). Boundaries The seat is based on the ancient county of Montgomeryshire, in the principal area of Powys. One of Britain's most rural and isolated constituencies, Montgomeryshire elected Liberal or Liberal-affiliated candidates from 1880, until a Conservative victory in the 1979 general election. Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa
Llanfihangel-yng-Ngwynfa () was a parish within the former historic county of Montgomeryshire. It now forms a major part of the community of Llanfihangel in Powys, which covers an area of . Its Community Council extends to take in Dolanog and Llwydiarth, having approximately 413 registered voters (as at 2012). The parish originally consisted of the following townships: Cefncleisiog, Cydwnfa, Dolwar, Fachwen, Farchwell, Fynnonarthwr, Garthucha, Halfen, Llaethbwlch, Llwydiarth, Nanty-Candy, and Rhiewlas. Dolanog seceded from Llanfihangel in 1856. Poet and hymnwriter Ann Griffiths (1776–1805) was born in, and is buried, in this place. Machynlleth Railway Station
Machynlleth railway station is a railway station on the Cambrian Line in mid-Wales, serving the town of Machynlleth. It was built by the Newtown and Machynlleth Railway (N&MR), and subsequently passed into the ownership of the Cambrian Railways, the Great Western Railway, Western Region of British Railways and London Midland Region of British Railways. It is notable that there is a distance of between this station and Caersws, the longest distance between two intermediate stations in Wales. History The first railway station in Machynlleth was the narrow gauge Corris Railway, which opened its station building on the north side of the main-line goods yard in 1859. Llanfyllin ( – ) is a market town, community and electoral ward in a sparsely populated area in Montgomeryshire, Powys, Wales. Llanfyllin's community population in 2011 was 1,532, of whom 34.1% could speak Welsh. Llanfyllin means ''church or parish'' (llan) ''of St Myllin'' ('m' frequently mutates to 'f' in Welsh). The community includes the tiny settlements of Bodfach, Ty Crwyn, Abernaint and several farms. Geography The town lies in the valley of the River Cain near the Berwyn Mountains in Montgomeryshire, southwest of Oswestry and from Montgomery. The River Cain is joined by the small River Abel in Llanfyllin (presumably named after Cain and Abel in the Bible), and meanders through the valley, flowing into the River Vyrnwy at Llansantffraid.
