Elizabeth Greenwood-Hughes (née Greenwood) is an English television presenter working for the BBC. She is currently a regular presenter of Sports News on the BBC News Channel and the ''BBC Weekend News''. Education She studied film and photography at Salisbury College of Art, which became Wiltshire College. Presenting career After working on ''BBC South Today'' she presented '' Newsround'', the children's current affairs show on BBC One between 2001 and 2008. She co-presented the show's 30th Anniversary edition with original presenter John Craven. She then went on to present ''Sportsround'' on BBC Two from 2005, with co-host Jake Humphrey. Moving to sports presenting, she was part of the BBC's presenting line-up at the 2006 Melbourne Commonwealth Games, the 2008 Beijing Olympics and Paralympics and the 2006 Turin and 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics. 2006 Winter Olympics
The 2006 Winter Olympics, officially the XX Olympic Winter Games ( it, XX Giochi olimpici invernali) and also known as Torino 2006, were a winter multi-sport event held from 10 to 26 February 2006 in Turin, Italy. This marked the second time Italy had hosted the Winter Olympics, the first being in 1956 in Cortina d'Ampezzo; Italy had also hosted the Summer Olympics in 1960 in Rome. Turin was selected as the host city for the 2006 Games in June 1999. The official motto of Torino 2006 was "Passion lives here". The Games' logo depicted a stylized profile of the Mole Antonelliana building, drawn in white and blue ice crystals, signifying the snow and the sky. London Marathon
The London Marathon is an annual marathon held in London, United Kingdom, and is the 2nd largest annual road race in the UK, after the Great North Run in Newcastle. Founded by athletes Chris Brasher and John Disley in 1981, it is typically held in April but has moved to October for 2020 and 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Tomasz Schafernaker (born 8 January 1979) is a Polish-British meteorologist who currently works for BBC Weather. Early life Tomasz Schafernaker was born on 8 January 1979 in Gdańsk, Poland, and attended school both in his native Poland and in Britain. He was educated at the independent school St. John's College, Southsea, in Portsmouth, where he took A-levels in mathematics, physics and art, followed by the University of Reading where he gained a BSc (Hons) in Meteorology. Career After joining the Met Office, he trained as a meteorologist. The English football league system, also known as the football pyramid, is a series of interconnected leagues for men's association football clubs in England, with five teams from Wales, one from Guernsey, one from Jersey and one from the Isle of Man also competing. ''The Football League Show'' is a BBC One football television show, primarily hosted by Manish Bhasin. It features match highlights from the Championship, League One and League Two. It began on 8 August 2009, at 11:45 pm and immediately followed ''Match of the Day'' on Saturdays. Similar to other BBC Sport studio shows, UK-based users of the BBC website could watch a live simulcast of the programme. The programme was made in Studio C at IMG studios, London.
