Live In London Town
''Live In London Town'' is the first live DVD by William Control. It was filmed at several venues in London in August/September 2012. The main feature is from the first show, at the Islington Academy on August 29, where Control’s first album, ''Hate Culture'', was played in its entirety. Extra footage was filmed over the following 2 shows at the Camden Barfly (August 31) and the Islington Metalworks (September 1). A teaser trailer was published on YouTube on October 21, 2012. The DVD itself featured a brand new song called ''Speak To Me Of Abduction'', which played over the closing credits. An unnamed female contributed vocals to the track. videofor this was published on YouTube on December 31, 2012. Only 500 physical DVDs were made. William Control
William Control is an American electronic music project founded in 2008 in Seattle, Washington. It was the side project of Aiden's William Francis before Aiden's hiatus, and he later operated as William Control full-time. 'William Control' therefore refers to both the band as a whole and to Francis as his stage name. John Stephen Gerrard Jeffreys (22 April 1950 – 17 September 2018) was a British playwright and playwriting teacher. He wrote original plays, films and play adaptations and also worked as translator. Jeffreys is best known for his play ''The Libertine'' about the Earl of Rochester, which was performed at the Steppenwolf Theatre Company in Chicago with John Malkovich as Rochester, and later adapted into a film starring Malkovich and Johnny Depp. Career Jeffreys attended the University of Southampton, graduating with an English literature degree in 1972. Electrowerkz, also known as the Islington Metal Works, is a three-floor music venue in Islington, London. In addition to mainstream club nights, it hosts the weekly goth night club Slimelight and other alternative events. Layout Electrowerkz has three floors. The Barfly
The Barfly was a chain of live music venues in the United Kingdom originally started by Nick Moore, Jeremy Ledlin and Be Rozzo on Valentine's Day 1997. Club nights and events tended to feature rock, alternative and independent music. The flagship venue was based in Camden Town, London, England. The premises are still used as a live music venue, which has a capacity of 200. Camden venue Prior to 2000, the flagship Camden venue had been known as The Monarch, a pub which had hosted live music gigs since the 1980s. During the 1990s it became a regular venue for Britpop bands. ''Hate Culture'' is the debut studio album by William Control. It was released on October 28, 2008 through independent label Victory Records. Recording and composition The album was written, produced and engineered by William Control. It was mixed by Justin Armstrong and William Control at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle in July 2008. The album is a concept album that follows a man named William Control on the last day before he kills himself. Speaking to ''Kerrang!'' in 2009, Francis said:That came out of some serious desperation and hopelessness. Being on the road for five years had worn me down.
