''Live at Montreux 2003'' is a 2007 live album and video from the English progressive rock band Yes. It is a live recording of the group's headlining concert at the Montreux Jazz Festival on 14 July 2003. The performance was filmed and is also available on DVD/Blu-ray. This is the first official album to feature the classic line-up of lead vocalist Jon Anderson, guitarist Steve Howe, keyboardist Rick Wakeman, bassist Chris Squire and drummer Alan White since the 1996/1997 ''Keys to Ascension'' live albums, along with a DVD also entitled ''Keys to Ascension''. The album was released in 2007, during a hiatus in the band's activity following a tour ending in 2004. Yes are an English progressive rock band formed in London in 1968 by lead singer and frontman Jon Anderson, bassist Chris Squire, guitarist Peter Banks, keyboardist Tony Kaye and drummer Bill Bruford. The band has undergone numerous line-up changes throughout their history, during which 19 musicians have been full-time members. Since May 2022, the band has consisted of guitarist Steve Howe, keyboardist Geoff Downes, singer Jon Davison, and bassist Billy Sherwood, as well as touring drummer Jay Schellen. Rick Wakeman
Richard Christopher Wakeman (born 18 May 1949) is an English keyboardist best known as a former member of the progressive rock band Yes across five tenures between 1971 and 2004, and for his solo albums released in the 1970s. Born and raised in West London, Wakeman intended to be a concert pianist but quit his studies at the Royal College of Music in 1969 to become a full-time session musician. His early sessions included playing on "Space Oddity", among others, for David Bowie, and songs by Junior's Eyes, T. Rex, Elton John, and Cat Stevens. Wakeman became a member of The Strawbs in 1970 before joining Yes a year later, playing on some of their most successful albums across two stints until 1980. Patrick Moraz
Patrick Philippe Moraz (born 24 June 1948) is a Swiss musician, film composer and songwriter, best known for his tenures as keyboardist in the rock bands Yes and The Moody Blues. Born into a musical family, Moraz learned music at a young age and studied at the Lausanne Conservatory. He began a music career in the 1960s as a jazz musician, performing with his quartet and quintet, groups that performed across Europe and won several awards. He formed the short-lived progressive rock group Mainhorse in 1969, and began work scoring films. In 1974, he formed another band, Refugee, and recorded one album before he joined Yes later the same year. Moraz was a member of Yes until 1976, and during this time he also started a solo career, beginning with the 1976 album ''The Story of I''. Moraz was a member of The Moody Blues from 1978 to 1991. "And You and I" is the second track from the album ''Close to the Edge'' by the English progressive rock band Yes. The song is just over ten minutes in length and consists of four movements. The first and second parts of the song were released as a single edit and reached number 42 on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. Introducing the song live in 1972, lead vocalist Jon Anderson said Yes called it "The Protest Song" when they were making the ''Close to the Edge'' album. Paul Stump's 1997 ''History of Progressive Rock'' called the song "a ''tour de force'' of atmosphere, contrasting opaline twelve-string against Rick Wakeman's cavernous Mellotron, light and shade divided across the four sections with pleasing architectural skill". "South Side of the Sky" is a song by progressive rock band Yes from their album ''Fragile''. Description It opens with the sound of a howling wind, then the song starts after a thunder-strike, bursting into a heavy, riff-dominated rock song. At around 2:08, Rick Wakeman's piano comes in along with another few seconds of wind. At around 3:19, Chris Squire, Steve Howe and Jon Anderson start singing wordless vocal harmonies along with the piano. This continues until about 5:42, when the earlier heavy riff part returns, with the wind in the background. The song fades out in the end to the same howling wind that occurred throughout. AFAS Live (formerly known as the Heineken Music Hall) is a concert hall in Amsterdam, Netherlands, near the Johan Cruyff Arena. ''Symphonic Live'' is a video and live album by the English progressive rock band Yes, released on DVD and a single CD on 18 June 2002 by Eagle Vision and subsequently on two CDs and on Blu-ray by Eagle Records. The album documents the group's performance at the Heineken Music Hall in Amsterdam on 22 November 2001 during their Yessymphonic Tour, supporting their nineteenth studio album ''Magnification'', which also featured an orchestra. The tour featured Yes performing on stage with an orchestra; ''Symphonic Live'' features the European Festival Orchestra conducted by Wilheilm Keitel. ''Keys to Ascension'' is a video album by English progressive rock band Yes, released in October 1996 by CMC International. It featured the group's performances at the Fremont Theatre in San Luis Obispo, California in March 1996, following the return of guitarist Steve Howe and keyboardist Rick Wakeman in 1995, which marked the first performances of the band's "classic" line-up since 1979. The three concerts with the newly reunited lineup were followed by two double albums entitled ''Keys to Ascension'' and ''Keys to Ascension 2'', featuring all new material alongside live tracks from the San Luis Obispo shows. This along with these companion albums were reissued in 2010 as the ''Keys to Ascension'' box set. Howe oversaw the mixing of the audio for the video.
