Warren Haynes (born April 6, 1960) is an American musician, singer and songwriter. Personal background and style Haynes spent his formative years in Asheville, North Carolina, where he was born, and lived with his two older brothers and his father, Edward Haynes. He began playing guitar at age 12. His primary guitar is a Gibson Les Paul '58 Reissue Electric Guitar. His choice of a '58 is most likely because of Duane Allman's famed '58 Les Paul and the tone he achieved with that, rather than the more commonly used '59 Les Paul model, popularized by guitari ...

One (U2 Song)
"One" is a song by Irish rock band U2. It is the third track from their 1991 album ''Achtung Baby'', and it was released as the record's third single in February 1992. During the album's recording sessions at Hansa Studios in Berlin, conflict arose between the band members over the direction of U2's sound and the quality of their material. Tensions almost prompted the band to break up until they achieved a breakthrough with the improvisation of "One"; the song was written after the band members were inspired by a chord progression that guitarist the Edge was playing in the studio. The lyrics, written by lead singer Bono, were inspired by the band members' fractured relationships and the German reunification. Although the lyrics ostensibly describe "disunity", they have been interpreted in other ways. "One" was released as a benefit single, with proceeds going towards AIDS research. The song topped the Irish Singles Charts, the Canadian ''RPM'' Top Singles chart and the US ''B ...

Soulshine (song)
"Soulshine" is a song written by American musician Warren Haynes and originally recorded by Larry McCray on his 1993 album, ''Delta Hurricane''. It is best known as a recording that The Allman Brothers Band released on their 1994 album, '' Where It All Begins'', featuring Gregg Allman on vocals. The song's title originates from Haynes's nickname, given by his father. Although the Allman's version was never released as a single, it remained one of their best known songs among fans and concert-goers. A live version of the song, which appeared on the Allmans' 2003 DVD, ''Live at the Beacon Theatre'', had Allman and Haynes alternating vocals on the verses and harmonizing on the chorus, and includes a slide solo from Derek Trucks, as Dickey Betts was no longer with the band. This has become the standard for the song in most recent years with dual vocals. When Haynes and bassist Allen Woody formed Gov't Mule, they took the song with them. Gov't Mule performs "Soulshine" live at their ...

Wake Of The Flood
''Wake of the Flood'' is the sixth studio album (tenth overall) by rock band the Grateful Dead. Released October 15, 1973, it was the first album on the band's own Grateful Dead Records label. Their first studio album in nearly three years, it was also the first without founding member Ron "Pigpen" McKernan, who had recently died. His absence and keyboardist Keith Godchaux's penchants for bebop and modal jazz (rather than McKernan's tendencies toward the blues and rhythm and blues) contributed to the band's musical evolution. Godchaux's wife, backing vocalist Donna Jean Godchaux, also joined the group and appears on the album. The release fared better on the pop charts than their previous studio album (1970's '' American Beauty''), reaching  18. An expanded version was released in 2004. Recording After three (official) live albums in a row, the Grateful Dead wanted to record studio versions of songs written since Keith Godchaux had joined the band. At the time of recordin ...
