Little Nashville is a ghost town in Jackson County, Alabama, United States. The settlement was located along the Paint Rock River. Northeast of the settlement is a hilly projection of land called "Little Nashville Point". History The settlement was named "Little Nashville" because a steel bridge fabricated in Nashville, Tennessee crossed the Paint Rock River at that location. Little Nashville was once "a thriving village". The Geographic Names Information System (GNIS) is a database of name and locative information about more than two million physical and cultural features throughout the United States and its territories, Antarctica, and the associated states of the Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, and Palau. The Alabama Forestry Commission (AFC) is the forest management agency for the U.S. state of Alabama. It was created as a state agency by an act of the Alabama Legislature in 1924. Paint Rock River
The Paint Rock River is a tributary of the Tennessee River in northern Alabama in the United States. Its tributaries also drain a portion of south-central Tennessee. The river is formed in northeastern Jackson County by the confluence of Estill Fork and Hurricane Creek, and flows generally southwardly, past the town of Paint Rock.
