Little Bow
Little Bow was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta from 1913 to 2019. Throughout its history, this district has been dominated by agricultural activities. Because the area is prone to summer time drought and frequent water rationing, agriculture has been limited to grain crops and cattle ranches. The 2003 BSE crisis, and the subsequent closure of the US border to Canadian cattle, became a major election issue. The district's major communities, Vulcan, Coalhurst, the Siksika Nation, Arrowwood, Picture Butte and Mossleigh provide service centres for area's agricultural and oil & gas industries. The Alberta Electoral Boundary Re-distribution, 2010 was a re-distribution of the boundaries of 87 Alberta electoral districts which elect a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta. The ''Electoral Boundaries Commission Act'' requires the Legislative Assembly to create a Electoral Boundaries Commission to review and provide recommendations for provincial representation in Alberta. The Current electoral laws in Alberta fix the number of seats in the Legislative Assembly of Alberta at 87. The ''2009/2010 Alberta Electoral Boundaries Commission'' was established on July 31, 2009, and was chaired by Justice J. M. Walter and members included Keith Archer, Peter Dobbie, Brian Evans and Allyson Jeffs. The Final Report by the commission with recommendations was submitted to the legislature on June 24, 2010. Chestermere-Rocky View was a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first-past-the-post method of voting from 2012 to 2019. History Boundary history Chestermere-Rocky View was created from large portions of the old electoral district of Airdrie-Chestermere and Foothills-Rocky View in the 2010 Alberta boundary re-distribution. The district surrounds the western, northern and eastern boundaries of the city of Calgary. The electoral district was abolished in the 2017 electoral district re-distribution prior to the 2019 Alberta general election. Lethbridge-West is an Alberta Provinces and territories of Canada, provincial electoral district (Canada), electoral district, covering the western half of the city of Lethbridge, including all of West Lethbridge. Lethbridge-East is a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada, covering the eastern half of the city of Lethbridge. The district is one of 87 in the province mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The electoral district was created in the 1971 boundary redistribution when the old Lethbridge district was split into this district and Lethbridge-West. The current representative for Lethbridge-East is United Conservative Nathan Neudorf, who won his first term on April 16, 2019. Prior to him it was held by New Democrat Maria Fitzpatrick, from 2015-2019, Liberal-turned-PC Bridget Pastoor from 2004-2015 and Liberal Ken Nicol from 1993-2004. Highwood is a provincial electoral district in southern Alberta, Canada. The district is one of 87 in the province mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The district was created in the 1971 boundary redistribution out of the old Okotoks-High River riding and the North part of Pincher Creek-Crowsnest. The district has favoured right leaning parties since its creation. Progressive Conservative Association of Alberta candidates held the district from 1975 until 2012 when they were unseated by the Wildrose Party. Livingstone-Macleod is a provincial electoral district in Alberta, Canada. The district is one of 87 current districts in the province mandated to return a single member to the Legislative Assembly of Alberta using the first past the post method of voting. The electoral district located in rural southwestern Alberta was created with minimal boundary changes in the 1997 boundary re-distribution from the old riding of Pincher Creek-Macleod. The district is named after Mount Livingstone and the town of Fort Macleod. The district also contains the communities of Pincher Creek and the municipality of the Crowsnest Pass. Cypress-Medicine Hat is a provincial electoral district in the southeast corner of Alberta. Under the Alberta electoral boundary re-distribution of 2004, the constituency covers the portion of Medicine Hat south of the South Saskatchewan River, the Trans-Canada Highway and Carry Drive. The rest of the city is part of the Medicine Hat constituency, which Cypress-Medicine Hat surrounds. The constituency borders Saskatchewan to the east and Montana to the south.
