Listenable Records is an independent metal label originally founded in 1990 in France. The label specializes in metal, with a focus on extreme metal music. The company has published albums from many acclaimed extreme metal bands, such as Immortal, My Dying Bride, Gojira, Aborted, Textures, and Immolation. Gojira is a French heavy metal band from Ondres. Founded as Godzilla in 1996, the band's lineup—brothers Joe (lead vocals, rhythm guitar) and Mario Duplantier (drums), Christian Andreu (lead guitar), and Jean-Michel Labadie (bass)—has been the same since the band changed its name to Gojira in 2001. Gojira has been known for their progressive and technical death metal styles and their spiritual, philosophical, and environmentally-themed lyrics. Betraying The Martyrs
Betraying the Martyrs are a French metalcore band formed in Paris in 2008. The band currently consists of vocalist Rui Martins, guitarists Steeves Hostin and Baptiste Vigier, bassist Valentin Hauser, drummer Boris le Gal, and keyboardist Victor Guillet. They are currently signed to Out of Line Music. Through their previous label, Sumerian Records, Betraying the Martyrs have released four studio albums: '' Breathe in Life'' (2011), ''Phantom'' (2014), ''The Resilient'' (2017), and ''Rapture'' (2019). Textures (band)
Textures were a Dutch progressive metalcore band, formed in 2001. Textures' lineup revolved around founding members Jochem Jacobs, Stef Broks, Bart Hennephof, and bassist Remko Tielemans who joined in 2007. Since 2010, vocalist Daniël de Jongh and keyboardist Uri Dijk have been with the band. Textures first came to the spotlight with their debut album ''Polars'' with Listenable Records which won an Essent Award for "Most Promising Act" in 2004. Amaran
Amaran was a Swedish metal band. Their music can be described to have heavy metal guitars combined with the clear voice of singer Johanna DePierre. History Formation Amaran started out as a band in the spring of 2000, in Stockholm, Sweden, and then developed a dynamic and original way of writing songs, combining heavy metal guitars with clear female vocals. Angtoria
Angtoria was a symphonic metal band composed of British singer Sarah Jezebel Deva and Swedish brothers Chris and Tommy Rehn. Singer Sarah Jezebel Deva joined with the brothers in 2001 to create the band. Their debut album, ''God Has a Plan for Us All'', was released in April 2006. The name Angtoria derives its origin from the title of a song by the band Moahni Moahna where Tommy was a member between 1992–1997. History The band started with a friendship forged between Sarah and Chris when they were touring in 2001 with Therion and Evergrey. Aborted
Aborted is a Belgian death metal band formed in 1995 in Waregem. The group currently consists of vocalist, founder and only constant member Sven de Caluwé, guitarist Ian Jekelis, bassist Stefano Franceschini and drummer Ken Bedene. Although the band originally had an entire lineup of members living in Belgium, Aborted's current lineup now features members from Belgium, The Netherlands, Iceland and the United States. Immolation is an American death metal band from Yonkers, New York. They are considered one of the leaders of the New York death metal scene along with Incantation, Mortician and Suffocation. Ancient (band)
Ancient is a Norwegian black metal band from Bergen, formed in 1992. The band released six full-length albums released by Metal Blade Records to date and a variety of mini-albums, EPs and special releases. Ancient used to have the classic raw black metal sound, similar to Darkthrone's works. Beginning with '' The Cainian Chronicle'', they moved towards a more Nordic/atmospheric black metal sound, akin to Emperor and a cleaner production. After a period of turmoil concerning their line-up, they went on to add gothic-style instruments such as violins, a female vocalist, and synthesizers to their music. Aaron Buchanan & The Cult Classics are a British rock band formed in 2016 by former Heaven's Basement (Red Bull Records) vocalist Aaron Buchanan and signed to Listenable Records. Armageddon is a Swedish melodic death metal band, led by Christopher Amott of Arch Enemy. Biography Formed in Halmstad, Sweden, in 1997 by Christopher Amott, Armageddon began when Arch Enemy were invited to Japan to sign a new record deal with Toy's Factory records after the release of the '' Black Earth'' album.
