Paragordius Obamai
''Paragordius'' is a genus of worms belonging to the family Chordodidae. It was independently described by both Lorenzo Camerano in 1897 and Thomas Harrison Montgomery Jr. in 1898, though both authors gave the genus the same name. The genus has almost cosmopolitan distribution, although most species are known from the Afrotropic and Neotropic regions. Females of the genus are notable for having three posterior lobes, while males have long tail lobes, allowing ''Paragordius'' species to be readily identified. Species: *'' Paragordius amicus'' *''Paragordius andreasii'' *''Paragordius areolatus'' *'' Paragordius cinctus'' *'' Paragordius dartevallei'' *'' Paragordius diversolobatus'' *'' Paragordius emeryi'' *''Paragordius esavianus'' *''Paragordius flavescens'' *''Paragordius laurae'' *''Paragordius marlieri'' *''Paragordius minusculus'' *''Paragordius mulungensis'' *'' Paragordius obamai'' *''Paragordius somaliensis'' *''Paragordius stylosus'' *''Paragordius ...

Obama Nungara
''Obama nungara'' is a species of land planarian in the family Geoplanidae. It is native to South America, but has been introduced in Europe. Description ''Obama nungara'' is a medium-sized land planarian with a lanceolate body, being up to long. The background color of the dorsum varies from golden yellow to honey yellow and is covered by dark-brown to black spots and flecks aggregated in short and irregular longitudinal streaks, giving it a light to dark-brown marbled appearance. A fine line devoid of brown pigmentation usually runs longitudinally along the middle of the dorsum, sometimes having a diffuse dark border formed by concentration of the brown pigmentation. In some specimens this line is also covered by pigmentation and is almost unnoticeable. The ventral side has a uniform cream to grey-white color. As in most species of the genus ''Obama'', ''O. nungara'' has hundreds of eyes distributed along the body. They form a single row around the anterior tip and after ...

Obama (genus)
''Obama'' is a genus of land planarians from South America. It contains several species adapted to human-disturbed environments, including the only invasive land planarian native to the Neotropical realm, ''Obama nungara'', which has been accidentally introduced in Europe. Description The genus ''Obama'' is characterized by having a leaf-shaped body. Most species are about long, but some may reach over . The hundreds of eyes distributed along the body are of two types: monolobulated, which are simple and circular, and trilobulated, which have three lobes. The copulatory apparatus of ''Obama'' has a protrusible penis occupying the entire male atrium or most of it. Morphologically the genus can be divided in two subgroups depending on the shape of the penis papilla, which may be symmetrical or asymmetrical. The group with an asymmetrical penis papilla includes 10 species (''O. anthropophilla'', ''O. carbayoi'', ''O. carrierei'', ''O. decidualis'', ''O. josefi'', ''O. ladislavi ...

Ediacaran
The Ediacaran Period ( ) is a geological period that spans 96 million years from the end of the Cryogenian Period 635 million years ago (Mya), to the beginning of the Cambrian Period 538.8 Mya. It marks the end of the Proterozoic Eon, and the beginning of the Phanerozoic Eon. It is named after the Ediacara Hills of South Australia. The Ediacaran Period's status as an official geological period was ratified in 2004 by the International Union of Geological Sciences (IUGS), making it the first new geological period declared in 120 years. Although the period takes its name from the Ediacara Hills where geologist Reg Sprigg first discovered fossils of the eponymous Ediacaran biota in 1946, the type section is located in the bed of the Enorama Creek within Brachina Gorge in the Flinders Ranges of South Australia, at . The Ediacaran marks the first appearance of widespread multicellular fauna following the end of Snowball Earth glaciation events, the so-called Ediacaran bio ...

Obamus
''Obamus coronatus'' is a torus-shaped Ediacaran fossil from the Rawnsley Quartzite of South Australia named in honor of former American President Barack Obama by the lab of Mary L. Droser. Morphology The fossils show a multi-ridged body embedded in the biofilm of the original environment, with one end of the body tucked into or beneath the other end to form a ring, so that the living organism would have resembled a French cruller doughnut. Etymology The generic epithet honors President Obama, partly in reference to his love and patronage of the sciences, and allegedly because the fossil organisms resemble his ear. The specific epithet, ''coronatus'', meaning "equipped with a wreath" (or "crowned"), refers to the torus or ring-shape of the fossils. It is internationally known for its cultural and natural values as follows: The area has deep cosmological and traditional significance for living Native Hawaiian culture, as an ancestral environment, as an embodiment of the Hawaiian concept of kinship between people and the natural world, and as the place where it is believed that life originates and to where the spirits return after death. On two of the islands, Nihoa and Mokumanamana, there are archaeological remains relating to pre-European settlement and use. Much of the monument is made up of pelagic and deepwater habita ...

Tosanoides Obama
''Tosanoides obama'', Obama's basslet, is a coral reef fish species from the subfamily Anthiinae part of the family Serranidae, the groupers and sea basses. It was discovered in Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument, Hawaii. ''Tosanoides obama'' was named after former US President Barack Obama in honor of his efforts to preserve natural environments including expanding the Papahānaumokuākea Marine National Monument. It was first discovered and described by Richard Pyle, Brian Greene and Randall Kosaki in December 2016. They also noted a distinctive spot on the male's dorsal fin reminiscent of Obama's campaign logo. The fish live in small groups in holes in reefs at a depth of around 90 m. Following the discovery the size of the reserve was increased. ''Tosanoides obama'' is one of six species in the genus '' Tosanoides''. Cichlid
Cichlids are fish from the family Cichlidae in the order Cichliformes. Cichlids were traditionally classed in a suborder, the Labroidei, along with the wrasses ( Labridae), in the order Perciformes, but molecular studies have contradicted this grouping. The closest living relative of cichlids is probably the convict blenny, and both families are classified in the 5th edition of ''Fishes of the World'' as the two families in the Cichliformes, part of the subseries Ovalentaria. This family is both large and diverse. At least 1,650 species have been scientifically described, making it one of the largest vertebrate families. New species are discovered annually, and many species remain undescribed. The actual number of species is therefore unknown, with estimates varying between 2,000 and 3,000. Many cichlids, particularly tilapia, are important food fishes, while others, such as the ''Cichla'' species, are valued game fish. The family also includes many popular freshwater ...
