The China Theatre Plum Blossom Award (), more commonly the Plum Blossom Award, is the highest theatrical award in China. It is awarded by the China Theatre Association. Several Taiwanese have also won the award, such as Wei Hai-min. History The Plum Blossom Award was founded in 1983 by Liu Housheng, Vice President of the China Theatre Association, and his colleagues. In 1994, the China Theatre Association began awarding Second Plum Blossom Prizes to distinguished performers who had already won the prize once. In 2002, the Association began the policy of awarding the Plum Blossom Grand Prize to performers who had won the prize twice previously and continued to be active and innovative in the field. There have been four winners of that award to date: Shang Changrong in 2002, Song Guofeng and Mao Weitao in 2007, and Pei Yanling in 2009. The "Zoranov brk" (Zoran's moustache) award is given to the best actors during the event called "The days of Zoran Radmilović" (Serbian language, Serbian: "''Dani Zorana Radmilovića''") in the city of Zaječar, Serbia. Sterijino pozorje ( sr-cyr, Стеријино позорје) is an annual theater festival held since 1956 in the Serbian National Theater in Novi Sad, featuring the national theaters of Serbia and previously Yugoslavia. It is the most prestigious theater festival in the country. The festival was named after playwright Jovan Sterija Popović. Žanka Stokić Award
The Žanka Stokić ( sr-cyr, Жанка Стокић) is the distinguished award for acting in Serbian theater. It is awarded only to actresses. History of the award begins in 2001 when famous Serbian actress Mira Stupica (1923-2016) celebrated her 60-years of acting. On the stage, she publicly called for establishing the ''Velika Žanka award'' (''Great Žanka''), in honor of Žanka Stokić (1887-1947), today generally considered the best theatrical Serbian actress ever. Ill-fated Žanka, once the most celebrated Serbian actress was jailed and condemned (nearly being executed in the process) by the Communist regime in the post-war Yugoslavia as a collaborator during World War II, simply because she was performing during the war years. Theo D'Or
The Theo d'Or is a Dutch acting award, given annually to the actress with the most impressive leading role of the theater season. It is awarded by the Vereniging van Schouwburg- en Concertgebouwdirecties (VSCD), the main trade organisation for theaters in The Netherlands. The award itself is a golden medal, currently designed by Eric Claus. It was named after the Dutch actress Theo Mann-Bouwmeester. Its male counterpart is the Louis d'Or, named after Theo's brother, Louis Bouwmeester. The Theo d'Or is awarded annually, along with the other VSCD stage awards, at the Gala of Dutch Theater in the Stadsschouwburg in Amsterdam. Jury The jury is compiled of theater programmers, producers and critics, who have explicitly provided themselves in their relative disciplines. Jurors can take part of a jury for maximal six years. New jurors can be nominated by the jury itself or be appointed by the board of the VSCD.
