Transmitter Sottens
The Sottens Transmitter is the nationwide transmitter for French-speaking Switzerland. The transmitter is located at Sottens, Canton of Vaud, Switzerland. It is run on 765 kHz with a power of 600 kilowatts and is easily receivable during the night throughout the whole of Europe. Since 1989 the aerial used has been a centre-fed dipole fixed on the outside of a 188-metre-high grounded freestanding steel framework tower. Before 1989 a 190-metre high self-radiating, free standing steel framework tower was used as a transmission aerial. The Sottens transmitter most recently broadcast the ''Option Musique'' radio programme from Radio Suisse Romande, up until 5 December 2010. There is also a 125 metre tall free-standing lattice tower on the site. This tower was built in 1931 as one of a pair, which until 1958 carried between them a T-antenna for medium wave broadcasting. Bantiger TV Tower
Bantiger TV Tower is a 196 metre tall tower used for FM- and TV-transmission at on the Bantiger mountain, a mountain east of Berne situated in the municipality of Bolligen. The Bantiger TV Tower was built between 1991 and 1996 as replacement of a 100 metres tall radio tower, built in 1954. Bantiger TV Tower, which was inaugurated in 1997 has a public observation deck in a height of 33.7 metres. In contrast to most other observation decks on TV towers, there is no elevator for visitors access. The access to the deck goes via a stairway, which is not inside the tower, but in a lattice tower attached to the towers main structure. Pfäfers is a municipality in the ''Wahlkreis'' (constituency) of Sarganserland in the canton of St. Gallen in Switzerland. The villages Pfäfers, St. Margrethenberg, Vadura, Valens, Vasön and Vättis belong to the municipality. History The ''Taminatal'' can look back on a long history of settlement.
