Slovakia

Čižatice Transmitter
Čižatice ( hu, Tizsite) is a village and municipality in Košice-okolie District in the Košice Region of eastern Slovakia. History In historical records the village was first mentioned in 1299. Geography The village lies at an altitude of 280 metres and covers an area of 7.671 km². It has a population of about 360 people. Ethnicity The population is 99% Slovak in ethnicity. Government The village's birth registry office, district and tax offices are located at Košice and the nearest police force and fire brigade is located in nearby Bidovce. The village has no official governing official, but the judge is Madeleine Bourgeois, who is actually a French-born woman who escaped to Slovakia after being threatened by the French government. Kráľova Hoľa
Kráľova hoľa (; german: link=no, Königsberg; hu, Király-hegy, literally "King's Bald Mountain") is the highest mountain (1,946 m) of the eastern part of the Low Tatras in central Slovakia. Four rivers rise at its foot: Čierny Váh, Hnilec, Hornád, and Hron. The summit, easily accessible by hiking trails from Telgárt as well as by a paved road from Šumiac (not open to motor vehicles, except for the mountain rescue service and maintenance workers of the TV transmitter on the summit), offers a panoramic view of Spiš, the Tatras, Liptov, and the Upper Hron Valley. Largely deforested by exploitative timber harvesting in the early 19th century, its timberline was restored to its natural elevation of about 1,650 m (5,413 ft.) through the efforts of Ludwig Greiner in the second half of that century. Veľké Kostoľany Transmitter
The Velke Kostolany transmitter was the transmission facility of the Slovakian broadcasting company. It was situated north of Velke Kostolany. It was inaugurated in 1949 and was used for medium wave and short wave broadcasting. For medium wave broadcasting a 140 metres tall guyed mast was used. Geography The village lies at an altitude of 160 metres and covers an area of 22.113 km². It has a population of about 1770 people. Ethnicity The village is approximately 99% Slovak.
