South Korean singer and songwriter Kim Jong-hyun (most often credited as Jonghyun) has written 80 songs, including music for his solo career, his band, and for other artists. He began his musical career in 2008 as a member of the boy band Shinee and later formed the ballad group SM the Ballad. Jonghyun made his debut as a songwriter with Shinee's 2009 single "Juliette", which was featured on the extended play ''Romeo''. He was inspired by the 1968 film ''Romeo and Juliet'', stating that he deliberately chose "a story which everyone can identify with". He began making frequent contributions to Shinee's musical output thereafter. Most notably, in 2015, he penned the lyrics to " View", the lead single from Shinee's fourth studio album, ''Odd''. Lee Tae-min (born July 18, 1993), better known mononymously as Taemin, is a South Korean singer, actor and dancer. He debuted as a member of the boy band Shinee in May 2008 and the supergroup SuperM in 2019, both under SM Entertainment, and has subsequently been labeled by media outlets as the "Idol's Idol" due to the large number of idols citing him as an inspiration. As an actor, Taemin's first role was as Junsu in the 2009 MBC comedy ''Tae-Hee, Hye-Kyo, Ji-Hyun''. Taemin debuted as a soloist in 2014 with the release of his first extended play (EP), ''Ace''. ''Modern Times'' is the third studio album by South Korean singer-songwriter IU. It was released on October 8, 2013, via LOEN Entertainment under its imprint LOEN Tree. Under the theme of "French Black", the album departs from the singer's girlish image which established her as the "Nation's Sweetheart", by attempting various styles of music such as swing, jazz, and bossa nova. Her first full-length record since ''Last Fantasy'' (2011), the album contains guest features and collaborations from several artists. ''Modern Times'' contains thirteen tracks, including IU's number-one hit "The Red Shoes" and her self-composed song "Bad Day". Lee Ji-eun (; born May 16, 1993), also known by her stage name IU (), is a South Korean singer-songwriter, record producer and actress. She signed with LOEN Entertainment (now Kakao Entertainment) in 2007 as a trainee and debuted as a singer at the age of fifteen with her first extended play (EP) ''Lost and Found'' (2008). ''Poet Artist'' is the second and final studio album by South Korean singer-songwriter Jonghyun, released posthumously on January 23, 2018, through SM and Genie. The album had been confirmed in December 2017 and was completed prior to Jonghyun's death, of which it was announced a day after. Upon release, the album debuted at number 177 on the US ''Billboard'' 200, the album being his first to chart on the list.
