American pop music group Scissor Sisters have recorded songs for four studio albums. The group was founded in 2001 by Babydaddy (Scott Hoffman), Jake Shears (Jason Sellards), Ana Matronic (Ana Lynch), Del Marquis (Derek Gruen) and Paddy Boom (Patrick Seacor). After signing a contract with independent record label A Touch of Class in 2002, Scissor Sisters released their debut single "Electrobix". The critical success of its B-side, a cover version of Pink Floyd's rock song "Comfortably Numb", brought the group to the attention of Polydor Records, which signed them in 2003. Scissor Sisters then began to work on their self-titled debut studio album, which was released in 2004. Babydaddy and Shears wrote almost all of its songs, and would continue to do so for their later albums. ''Scissor Sisters'' is the debut studio album by American glam rock band Scissor Sisters, first released on February 2, 2004. It was released by Polydor Records in the United Kingdom and Universal Motown Records in the United States. ''Scissor Sisters'' reached number 1 on the UK and Irish albums charts and was the best-selling album of 2004 in the UK. Since its release, it been certified 9× Platinum in the UK, selling over 2,700,000 copies in the country alone. In Ireland, it has been certified 5× Platinum. ''Night Work'' is the third studio album by American band Scissor Sisters. It was released on June 28, 2010, and was preceded by the release of the lead single " Fire with Fire" on June 20. Background ''Night Work'' is actually the fourth album that the band recorded. In 2008, the band played two secret gigs, billed as Queef Latina and Debbie's Hairy, where they tested some of their newly recorded material for a third album, including "The Other Girls", "Singularity", "Not the Loving Kind", "Uroboros", "Who's There?" and a cover of Roxy Music's single "Do the Strand". It features most of the tracks from their initial demo album as well as other tracks never released on their studio albums or singles, including their first release "Electrobix". Carlos Alomar (born 7 May 1951) is a Puerto Ricans, Puerto Rican guitarist. He is best known for his work with David Bowie from the mid-1970s to the early 2000s, having played on more Bowie albums than any musician other than pianist Mike Garson. He has also performed with Duran Duran side project Arcadia (band), Arcadia, on the album ''So Red the Rose''. History The son of a Pentecostal minister, Alomar was raised in New York.
