Confederation Suburban Centre is a community in the city of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, which consists primarily of commercial development. Scope Confederation Suburban Centre contains Confederation Park Mall, Cosmo Civic Centre, Plaza 22, Carlyle King Library, Fairhaven Bowl and The Real Canadian Superstore. Confederation Suburban Centre has a straight northern boundary that does not follow any roadway, but follows along the edge of the Massey Place Neighborhood around and about Milton Street and a southernmost tip at 11th Street East. It has an eastern boundary along Circle Drive. The western boundary is Diefenbaker Drive between 22nd Street and extends north from here to about Milton Street. Blairmore Suburban Centre, Saskatoon, Saskatchewan
The Blairmore Suburban Centre is a community service/commercial/residential community currently under development in western Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It is part of the city's Blairmore Suburban Development Area, a large region annexed from the Rural Municipality of Corman Park No. 344 in 2005. Ultimately, the SDA will consist of seven new neighbourhoods, plus the Blairmore Suburban Centre, which is the first component of the SDA to be developed. The suburban centre lies south of 22nd Street West, which is also Saskatchewan Highway 14. Saskatchewan Highway 7 forms the area's western boundary as it links to the site of a proposed interchange at 22nd Street; prior to 2012, however, the highway was temporarily aligned with Betts Avenue within the suburban centre until a new roadway was later constructed. Riversdale is one of the oldest neighbourhoods in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada, located near the downtown area. It includes the business district of 20th Street. It consists mostly of low-density, single detached dwellings. As of 2021, the area was home to 2,534 residents. 22nd Street (Saskatoon)
22nd Street is an arterial road in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It begins as 22nd Street East in the Central Business District. Going west it passes the Midtown Plaza and TCU Place. At the intersection with Idylwyld Drive, it becomes 22nd Street West. Through the inner city neighbourhoods of Caswell Hill, Riversdale, Westmount, and Pleasant Hill, it contains a mixture of commercial and residential development. It then connects with Circle Drive via an interchange. Next to the interchange is the Confederation Mall. Across from that is a Real Canadian Superstore. From there is passes by the neighbourhoods of Pacific Heights, Blairmore, and Kensington. The road then heads out of the city and continues on as Highway 14. Circle Drive
Circle Drive is a major road constructed as a ring road in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Its route constitutes both part of the Yellowhead Highway and Highway 11, signed as both along the entire length. It was first conceived in 1913 by the city commissioner and completed exactly 100 years later in 2013. Most of the route is a fully-controlled access freeway, however the segment between Airport Drive and Millar Avenue has at-grade intersections. Idylwyld Drive
Idylwyld Drive ( ) is an arterial road in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. It is one of the main roads in and out of the downtown area of the city. On the south side of the Senator Sid Buckwold Bridge, it is a freeway and was initially designated as the Idylwyld Freeway (since 2013, the southern portion of the road has also been designated as Idylwyld Drive). It merges into Circle Drive at an interchange completed in 2013. At its north end the road divides into two highways, Highway 11 and Highway 12. The oldest section of Idylwyld Drive used to be known as Avenue A, the easternmost of the "lettered" north-south streets. In 1966, the Canadian National Railway tracks were relocated out of the downtown; the former railway bridge was demolished and replaced by a traffic bridge; and the former railroad right-of-way south of the river was made into the Idylwyld Freeway. Broadway Bridge (Saskatoon)
Broadway Bridge is an arch bridge that spans the South Saskatchewan River in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. History The bridge was constructed as a "make-work" project during the Great Depression. It was built in 1932 by the contractor R.J. Arrand Construction Co. It was designed by Chalmers Jack (C. J.) MacKenzie (on leave from his post as Dean of Engineering at the University of Saskatchewan). For this reason, the bridge was originally called The Dean's Bridge in its early period; it was formally named the Broadway Bridge as it connects Broadway Avenue on the east shore with 19th Street and 4th Avenue in Saskatoon's downtown core. The city once considered changing the name to George V Bridge in honour of the King. Construction of the bridge employed 1,593 men, who worked in three shifts around the clock.
