Municipal Presidents
A ''presidente municipal'' (English: "municipal president") is the chief of government of municipios in Mexico. This title was also used in the Philippines under the Spanish and American colonization; it is comparable to a mayor of the town or city. The position is comparable to the county executive of a county in the United States or to the mayor of a city in the United States, although the jurisdiction of a ''presidente municipal'' includes not only a city but the municipality surrounding it. Nationally, this position is also equivalent to that of Head of Government of the Federal District and that is why these positions are sometimes referred to as "mayors" in English-language publications. Pachuca Municipality
The Municipality of Pachuca de Soto, or Municipality of Pachuca, is one of the Municipalities of the state of Hidalgo, located in east-central Mexico. The municipal seat is the City of Pachuca de Soto (''Ciudad de Pachuca de Soto''). The Municipality of Pachuca is increasingly co-extensive with the metropolitan area of Pachuca, as development has grown to cover over 60% of the geographic open space. That has eliminated much of the municipality's native flora diversity and larger fauna. Hidalgo (), officially the Free and Sovereign State of Hidalgo ( es, Estado Libre y Soberano de Hidalgo) is one of the 31 states which, along with Mexico City, constitute the 32 federal entities of Mexico. It is divided into 84 municipalities and its capital city is Pachuca de Soto. Located in the eastern part of the country, Hidalgo is bordered by San Luis Potosí and Veracruz on the north, Puebla on the east, Tlaxcala and State of Mexico on the south and Querétaro on the west. Pachuca (; ote, Nju̱nthe), formally known as Pachuca de Soto, is the capital and largest city of the Mexican state of Hidalgo. It is located in the south-central part of the state. Pachuca de Soto is also the name of the municipality of which the city serves as municipal seat. Pachuca is located about from Mexico City via Mexican Federal Highway 85. There is no consensus about the origin of the name ''Pachuca''. Omar Fayad
Omar Fayad Meneses (born 26 August 1962) is a Mexican politician from the state of Hidalgo who has served as a federal deputy and senator. He served as the Governor of Hidalgo from 2016 to 2022. He is a member of the Institutional Revolutionary Party. Political career Fayad was born on 26 August 1962 in Zempoala, Hidalgo to a Lebanese father and a Mexican mother. He obtained his law degree from the UNAM in 1985. After his graduation, he worked in Attorney General of Mexico's office for several years. In 1989, he moved to the National Institute of Penal Sciences (INACIPE) and later served at various education posts in the state of Hidalgo. He served as Hidalgo's secretary of public education and attorney general during 1996–98.
