Santa Cruz County (), officially the County of Santa Cruz, is a county on the Pacific coast of the U.S. state of California. As of the 2020 census, the population was 270,861. The county seat is Santa Cruz. Santa Cruz County comprises the Santa Cruz–Watsonville, CA Metropolitan Statistical Area, which is also included in the San Jose–San Francisco–Oakland, CA Combined Statistical Area. The county is on the California Central Coast, south of the San Francisco Bay Area region. The county forms the northern coast of the Monterey Bay, with Monterey County forming the southern coast. Debra Frances "Camryn" Manheim (born March 8, 1961) is an American actress known for her roles as attorney Ellenor Frutt on ABC's ''The Practice'', Delia Banks on CBS's '' Ghost Whisperer'', Gladys Presley in the 2005 miniseries ''Elvis'', and "Control" on '' Person of Interest''. Suzanne Scheuer
Suzanne Scheuer (1898 – 1984) was an American fine artist, best known for her New Deal-era murals. She painted one of the murals in Coit Tower, ''Newsgathering''. Biography Suzanne Scheuer was born in San Jose, California on February 11, 1898. Scheuer was of Dutch descent. She moved to San Francisco, California in 1918. Scheuer studied at the California College of Arts and Crafts as a fine arts major, and later went back and got a teacher's credential. Around ten years later she went back to school to study mural painting with Ray Boynton at California School of Fine Arts (now called the San Francisco Art Institute). Scheuer taught art for three years in Los Banos and Salinas public schools. She then toured Europe extensively, where she gained an appreciation for murals. Ed Penniman
Ed Penniman is an American painter and graphic designer best known for his oil and watercolor paintings of the California's Central Coast. The American Institute of Graphic Arts selected his book design as one of the 50 best designed book covers of the year, and he has won numerous awards for his paintings and designs. He was commissioned by Santa Cruz County to design the official county flag in 1983. His designs and art work have been featured in magazines in the US, Europe, and Japan. Edmund Charles McMillen (born March 2, 1980) is an American video game designer and artist known for his Flash game visual style. His most notable works include 2010's side-scroller '' Super Meat Boy'' and 2011's roguelike game '' The Binding of Isaac'' and its 2014 remake. Frans Lanting
Frans Lanting (born 13 July 1951) is a Dutch National Geographic photographer, author and speaker. Life Lanting was born in Rotterdam in Netherlands. He studied economics at the Erasmus university in Rotterdam and later immigrated to the United States. He now lives in Santa Cruz, California, and operates a studio and gallery as well as a stock photography service. Lanting's wife Christine Eckstrom is a writer, editor, producer, and works on joint books of nature photography. Lanting works in many different parts of the world, including the Amazon basin, Africa and Antarctica. Scott R. Kurtz (born March 15, 1971) is an American webcomic artist. Known for creating the daily online comic-strip '' PvP'', Kurtz is among the first professional webcomic creators. Career Kurtz was born to a Catholic household in Watsonville, California. He attended the University of North Texas where he created and published a daily comic strip ''Captain Amazing'' in the ''North Texas Daily,'' the student newspaper. It ran for four semesters. His first work on the internet were comics related to the MMORPG game Ultima Online called "Samwise" and later "Tales by Tavernlight." Cam Archer (born 1981) is an American independent filmmaker, photographer and sound designer, currently residing in Santa Cruz, California. ''Cinemad'' Career Archer's first success was with his 2003 student produced short film, ''bobbycrush'', about a young boy's unrequited love for his best friend.
