The Spanish Wikipedia ( es, Wikipedia en español) is a Spanish-language edition of Wikipedia, a free online encyclopedia. It has articles. Started in May 2001, it reached 100,000 articles on March 8, 2006 and 1,000,000 articles on May 16, 2013. It is the -largest Wikipedia as measured by the number of articles and has the 4th-most edits. It also ranks 12th in terms of depth among Wikipedias. History In February 2002, Larry Sanger wrote an e-mail to a mailing list stating that Bomis was considering selling advertisements on Wikipedia. Edgar Enyedy, a user on the Spanish Wikipedia, criticized the proposal. Jimmy Wales and Sanger responded by saying that they did not immediately plan to implement advertisements, but Enyedy began establishing a fork. ''Chicha Press'' (''Prensa Chicha'' in Spanish) is a Peruvian nickname for sensationalist tabloid newspapers that first emerged in the 1980s. The etymology of ''Chicha Press'' is derived from the name for certain drinks made from corn, which later came to be used by some in Peru describe the culture of Andean migrants to the capital region of Lima during the 1960s. The concept of the Chicha press became a central part of the national culture in 2000 when it was popularized by Alberto Fujimori to discredit opponents of his government in the general elections of 2000. La Voz De Chincha
''La Voz de Chincha'' ('The Voice of Chincha') was a daily evening newspaper published from Chincha Alta, Peru. The newspaper was founded in 1924. Politically, it was supportive of the different governments in power during its existence. It carried the byline ''Diario independiente defensor de los intereses de la provincia'' ('Independent daily, defender of the interests of the province'). Luis A. Bianchi, Víctor Nagaro Bianchi and Ernesto Velit Ruiz served as directors of the newspaper. As of the late 1950s, it had a circulation of around 3,000. It had its own printing press. Nuevo Sol (newspaper)
The sol (; plural: soles; currency sign: S/) is the currency of Peru; it is subdivided into 100 '' céntimos'' ("cents"). The ISO 4217 currency code is PEN. The sol replaced the Peruvian inti in 1991 and the name is a return to that of Peru's historic currency, as the previous incarnation of sol was in use from 1863 to 1985. Although ''sol'' in this usage is derived from the Latin '' solidus'' (English: solid), the word also means "sun" in Spanish. There is thus a continuity with the old Peruvian inti, which was named after Inti, the Sun God of the Incas.
