Maybank Numismatic Museum
The Maybank Numismatic Museum is a museum in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, that is run and owned by the Maybank. It holds one of the largest coin and money collections in Malaysia. The museum is housed in Maybank Tower at Jalan Tun Perak. In September 2012, the museum was closed to the public for renovations, and has subsequently been reopened. Beauty Museum or Museum of Enduring Beauty ( ms, Muzium Kecantikan) is a museum about beauty standards and concepts in Malacca City, Malacca, Malaysia, which was opened in 1996. It occupies the top floor of the former Historical City Municipal Council building, originally constructed in the 1960s and believed to be built on top of the ruins of Dutch building, which also houses the People's Museum and Kite Museum at the ground and the upper floor respectively. The museum exhibits the standard of beauty since ancient until modern times and different concepts of beauty as practiced by different cultures. Among those different beauty concepts are skin tattooing, lip stretching by round discs insertion, tooth feeling, sacrification, head molding into oval shapes and feet growth restricting. Aborigines Museum
The Aborigines Museum ( ms, Muzium Orang Asli) is a museum in Ayer Keroh, Malacca, Malaysia, which showcases the native people relics found in the country. It was originally located inside Ayer Keroh Recreational Forest, but later relocated to its present area along Lebuh Ayer Keroh in December 1996 and went under the management of Malacca Museum Corporation. The museum was reopened on 3 February 1997. The museum building is a replica of a native house, built based on the architecture adopted from the common houses of native people in Malaysia. It displays the aborigines' fishing method, agricultural tools, interior house design, weaponry, wedding customs, heritage, history and funeral ceremonies of the indigenous tribes. The Labuan Museum ( ms, Muzium Labuan) is a museum located along Jalan Dewan in central Labuan, Malaysia. History The museum building was originally constructed in the 1950s. It was once the administration office of the British North Borneo government. After the formation of Malaysia in 1963, the building was once used as the Labuan district office and Labuan Municipal Council office building. In 1997, restoration works were done to the building followed by interior design works in 2002. The museum was officially opened on 8 October 2004 as the third museum opened in Labuan by Culture, Arts and Heritage Minister Rais Yatim. Chimney Museum
The Chimney Museum ( ms, Muzium Chimney) is a museum in Kubong, Labuan, Malaysia. The museum details the history of Kubong when coal mining was at its peak under the administration of the British North Borneo Chartered Company. History The area around the museum used to be a major coal mining site during the British North Borneo administration from 1847 until 1911. During archaeological digging work was done in 1997, archaeologists found 12 layers of bricks beneath the chimney. Also in the same year, soil work was carried out to stabilise and reinforce the structure of the chimney and also restoration to its original structure. The museum was officially opened in 2002. Petronas Gallery (Malay: Galeri Petronas) is a contemporary art gallery established in 1993 by the Malaysian multinational company Petronas to promote arts and culture. History Galeri Petronas was established in 1993 at the Dayabumi Complex, the former headquarters of Petronas. Its establishment created a major new venue for the display of visual art in Kuala Lumpur. Through the gallery, Petronas sponsored many art exhibitions showing works of both local and foreign artists. The gallery was relocated to its present prime location in the Petronas Twin Towers in 1998. The new circular gallery of 2000 sq meters is almost three times the size of the gallery in the Dayabumi Complex. The Royal Museum (Malay: ''Muzium Diraja'') along Jalan Istana was the former National Palace (Malay: ''Istana Negara'') and former residence of the Yang di-Pertuan Agong (Supreme King) of Malaysia. The Royal Malaysia Police Museum ( ms, Muzium Polis Diraja Malaysia) is a museum that showcases the history of the Royal Malaysia Police, located in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. The museum includes exhibits from the history of the Royal Malaysia Police since its origins under British colonial rule until the 1970s. Petrosains, also known as Petrosains, The Discovery Centre is a Malaysian science and technology museum located in the heart of Kuala Lumpur within Suria KLCC, Petronas Twin Towers. Petrosains was a brainchild of 4th Prime Minister Mahathir Mohamad and established on 25 March 1999. It is owned and operated by Petrosains Sdn. Bhd., a wholly owned subsidiary of the Malaysian oil and gas conglomerate Petronas. Tengku Nasariah Tengku Syed Ibrahim is the CEO of Petrosains until 2018. The current CEO is Ezarisma Azni Mohamad.
