According to a report, the total number of museums in Finland is 280 (2013), of which 139 are cultural history museums, 71 special museums, 55 art museums and 17 natural history museums. Circa 160 of these are run professionally. The central organisation for Finnish museums is the 1923 established Finnish Museums Association. Kainuu Museum
Kainuu ( sv, Kajanaland) is one of the 19 regions of Finland (''maakunta'' / ''landskap''). Kainuu borders the regions of North Ostrobothnia, North Savo and North Karelia. In the east, it also borders Russia (Republic of Karelia). Culturally Kainuu is part of larger Eastern-Finnish cultural heritage. The dialect of Kainuu resembles Savonian and Karelian dialects. Ekenäs, Finland
Ekenäs (; fi, Tammisaari ) is a town and former municipality in Finland that comprised the former municipalities of Snappertuna and Tenala together with the town of Ekenäs. It was merged with Pohja and Karis to form the new municipality of Raseborg on January 1, 2009. Ekenäs is in the province of Southern Finland, and is part of the Uusimaa ( sv, Nyland) region.
