World Federation Of Neurosurgical Societies
The World Federation of Neurosurgical Societies (WFNS), founded in 1955, in Switzerland, as a professional, scientific, non governmental organization, is composed of 130 member societies: consisting of 5 Continental Associations ( AANS, AASNS, CAANS, EANS and FLANC), 6 Affiliate Societies, and 119 National Neurosurgical Societies, representing some 50,000 neurosurgeons worldwide. It has a consultative status in the United Nations. The official Journal of the Organization is World Neurosurgery. Ibn Sina Academy Of Medieval Medicine And Sciences
Ibn Sina Academy of Medieval Medicine and Sciences (IAMMS) ( ur, ) is a trust registered under the Indian Trusts Act, 1882. Mohammad Hamid Ansari, former vice-chancellor of Aligarh Muslim University, Aligarh, formally inaugurated it on 21 April 2001. Department of AYUSH, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India gave accreditation to the academy in 2004 and promoted it as 'centre of excellence' in 2008. Membership of the academy is open to anyone who has an interest in the academy's activities particularly on history of medicine and history of science. Cardiovascular And Interventional Radiological Society Of Europe
The Cardiovascular and Interventional Radiological Society of Europe is a learned society of interventional radiologists from Europe and overseas. The society has its headquarters in Vienna (Austria) and was founded in 1985 by the merging of the European College of Angiography and European Society of Cardio-Vascular Radiology and Interventional Radiology. It currently has approximately 4,200 members from around the world, including 24 national societies. CIRSE's objective is to provide continuing education to physicians and scientists with an active interest in interventional radiology and to promote research as well as registries. Seychelles Medical And Dental Council
The Seychelles Medical and Dental Council (SMDC) was created in 1994 by the Medical Practitioners and Dentists Act. Its function is regulatory. The logo of SMDC depicts the coco de mer, (the largest nut in the world and found only in Seychelles), cut in cross-section and sitting on part of the leaf of the coco de mer tree. It also depicts a unique and loose interpretation of the Rod or the Staff of Asclepius the symbol of healing. The two snakes around the staff bear some resemblance to the Caduceus but they are not meant to depict the Caduceus. One of the snakes is deliberately of a different blue colour. SMDC regulates both the medical and dental professions and the two slightly different and yet similar snakes around the staff are meant to represent these two professions of healing.
