This is a list of the longest running United States cable television series, ordered by number of broadcast seasons. To qualify for this list, the programming must originate in North America and shown nationally in the United States and be first-run (as opposed to a repackaging of previously aired material or material released in other media). For the purposes of this list, series that were available only on a local or regional basis will be excluded, along with hybrid broadcast/cable networks such as The WB 100+/The CW Plus. For series that originated on U.S. broadcast networks (or broadcast syndication) and then was picked up by a national cable network, only the amount aired nationally on cable as original programming is represented here. Discovery Life is an American cable television network owned by Warner Bros. Discovery. Launched on February 1, 2011 as Discovery Fit & Health, it was the result of the merger of Discovery Health Channel and FitTV (following the former's replacement in its channel space by OWN), and focuses on reality programming dealing with "life events". Its programming is drawn from the libraries of its predecessors and TLC. FitTV was an American pay television channel, owned by Discovery Communications. The channel focused on fitness and exercise-related programming. FitTV offered programming with such fitness celebrities as Cathe Friedrich, Sharon Mann, Gilad Janklowicz, Marilu Henner, Tamilee Webb and others. On February 1, 2011, it merged with Discovery Health Channel to become Discovery Fit & Health, now known as Discovery Life. Discovery Health Channel
Discovery Health Channel was an American subscription television channel. Launched in July 1998, it was owned by Discovery Communications as a spin-off of Discovery Channel, focusing on health and wellness-oriented programming. In the beginning, DHC's programming consisted of reruns of medical- and health-themed programming from other Discovery networks, particularly TLC. As the network matured, it began producing its own reality series, mostly dealing with babies (''Babies: Special Delivery'', ''Birth Day''), bodies (''Plastic Surgery: Before and After'', ''National Body Challenge''), and medicine (''The Critical Hour'', '' Dr. G: Medical Examiner''). Fox Sports Networks (FSN), formerly known as Fox Sports Net, was the collective name for a group of regional sports channels in the United States. Formed in 1996 by News Corporation, the networks were acquired by The Walt Disney Company on March 20, 2019, following its acquisition of 21st Century Fox. A condition of that acquisition imposed by the U.S. Department of Justice required Disney to sell the regional networks by June 18, 2019, 90 days after the completion of its acquisition. Gilad Janklowicz ( he, גלעד ינקלוביץ'; ; born July 27, 1954) is an Israeli-born Physical fitness, fitness personality best known for the longest running fitness show in the United States, ''Bodies in Motion'', and for his show ''Total Body Sculpt with Gilad''. Raised in Israel, Janklowicz has been an athlete devoted to fitness since his high school days. He became a renowned Olympic hopeful in the decathlon, and a fitness instructor in the Israeli military. Janklowicz later moved to Los Angeles to attend the UCLA film school. In Los Angeles he built up a following as a fitness instructor. Janklowicz is the creator of more than 30 workout video titles. He has also been featured in many print publications.
