This is a list of lakes of Armenia. Lake Sevan, in Gegharkunik Province, is the largest body of water in Armenia and the entire Caucasus region. Armenia has one very large lake called Lake Sevan and more than 100 small mountain lakes. None of them, except Sevan and Lake Arpi, have yet been extensively studied. The water resources of the lakes amount to about , Sevan holding most of this, nearly (before the drainage it had almost ). Within the country's capital, Yerevan, it is possible to find small lakes, often in amusement parks. Geography Of Armenia
Armenia is a landlocked country in West Asia, situated in the Transcaucasus region of the South Caucasus, bordered on the north and east by Georgia and Azerbaijan and on the south and west by Iran, Azerbaijan's exclave Nakhchivan, and Turkey. The terrain is mostly mountainous and flat, with fast flowing rivers and few forests but with many trees. The climate is highland continental: hot summers and cold winters. Tavush Province
Tavush ( hy, Տավուշ, ) is a province of Armenia located at the northeast of Armenia, bordered by Georgia from the north and Azerbaijan from the east. Internally, Tavush borders the Gegharkunik Province from the south, Kotayk Province from the southwest, and the Lori Province from west. The capital and largest city of the province is the town of Ijevan. Etymology The name of the province is derived from ''Tavush''; a variant of the original name of ''Tuchkatak'' canton of the historic Utik province of Ancient Armenia. Lake Parz
Lake Parz ( hy, Պարզ Լիճ) is a small lake located in the Dilijan National Park east of Dilijan in Armenia. The lake was formed by natural climatic changes. "Parz" in Armenian means clear. In 2017 the TransCaucasian Trail was created to connect Parz Lake with the town of Dilijan and in the opposite direction with Gosh Village and Gosh Lake. The trail was created through the building of new trail segments to connect existing trails or dirt roads together. In 2018 Trails For Change NGO has built a new trail that loops around the Lake. A restaurant with bar, paddle boats ropes course and zip lines are found around the lake. Lake Lessing ( hy, Լեսինգ (լիճ)) is one of the few natural lakes in Armenia. It is on the eastern slope of the Aragats mountains at 3200 m. elevation. Armavir Province
Armavir ( hy, Արմավիր, ), is a province (''marz'') in the western part of Armenia. Located in the Ararat plain dominated by Mount Ararat from the south and Mount Aragats from the north, the province's capital is the town of Armavir while the largest city is Vagharshapat (Etchmiadzin). Aragatsotn Province
Aragatsotn ( hy, Արագածոտն, ) is a province ('' marz'') of Armenia. It is located in the western part of the country. The capital and largest city of the province is the town of Ashtarak. The Statistical Committee of Armenia reported its population was 132,925 in the 2011 census. Lake Kari
Lake Kari (Lake Qari, ) is a lake in Armenia located on the slopes of Mount Aragats. Most of its water comes from ice and snow. It is located 3,185 m above the sea level and has a perimeter of 1,150 m. From Byurakan village an asphalt automobile road stretches towards the source of Arkashen River, the lake Kari, located on a plateau below the peaks.
