This is a List of major honours won by football clubs in Romania. It lists all the Romanian football clubs who have won a domestic or European Trophy. Steaua București is the most decorated side in Romanian football, holding the record number of wins in every single internal competition, and being the only Romanian club to have obtained continental honours. Note: This list does not include the UEFA Intertoto Cup which was won by Oţelul Galaţi (2007) and Vaslui (2008) as they are not classified as outright winners by UEFA having failed to have the best run in the UEFA Cup out of the teams that had won the competition in those respective seasons. Chinezul Timișoara
Chinezul Timișoara was a football club that played both in the Romanian and the Hungarian championship during its existence. It was based in Timișoara, Romania (at the time of foundation Temesvár, Austria-Hungary). History The club was established in 1910 under the name ''Temesvári Kinizsi SE'' with the support of the local Rail Workers' Association. It was named after Pál Kinizsi, a general in the army of king Matthias Corvinus and Comes of Temes. The crest of the club also reflected to it, as it featured an arm holding a mill stone. This was related to old Hungarian folk tales which stated that Pál Kinizsi was a very strong miller who offered the king a glass of water on a mill stone with one hand instead of a platter. The team played its first ever match on 6 May 1911 against the Temesvár FC. Kinizsi entered the Hungarian league system in 1911, playing in the Southern division of the territorial championship. FC Petrolul Ploiești
Asociația Clubul Sportiv Petrolul 52, commonly known as Petrolul Ploiești () or simply as Petrolul, is a Romanian professional football club based in Ploiești, Prahova County, which competes in the Liga I. Founded in 1924 in capital Bucharest as ''Juventus'', following the merger of ''Triumf'' and ''Romcomit'', it won its first league championship in the 1929–30 season. In 1952 the team was relocated north to the city of Ploiești, and five years later settled on the name of Petrolul. Shortly after, it achieved three more national titles—in 1957–58, 1958–59 and 1965–66. Domestically, its honours also include three national cups, the latest in the 2012–13 campaign. Asociația Fotbal Club UTA Arad (), commonly known as UTA Arad or simply UTA, is a Romanian professional football club based in the city of Arad, Arad County, which competes in the Liga I. CS Universitatea Craiova (football)
U Craiova 1948 Club Sportiv, commonly known as Universitatea Craiova (), CS U Craiova, or simply U Craiova, is a Romanian professional football team based in Craiova, Dolj County, which competes in the Liga I, the top tier of the Romanian league system. Initially founded in 1948 as the football section of the ''CSU Craiova'' sports club, it was part of it until 1991, when its berth in the league championship was taken by FC U Craiova following privatisation. Between 1948 and 1991, Universitatea had won four national titles and five national cups. 2021–22 Liga I
The 2021–22 Liga I (also known as Casa Liga 1 for sponsorship reasons) is the 104th season of the Liga I, the top professional league for Romanian association football clubs. The season started on 15 July 2021 and is scheduled to end in May 2022. It is the sixth to take place since the play-off/play-out rule has been introduced, and the second since the 2005–06 season to feature 16 teams. CFR Cluj are the four-time defending champions. The play-off/play-out rule is the same as in the previous season, the first six teams at the regular season will qualify for the play-off tournament and the last 10 for the play-out. The first 6 teams will play two matches against each other (as before), but in the play-out, the teams will play only one match against each other.
