Los Angeles City Hall, completed in 1928, is the center of the government of the city of Los Angeles, California, and houses the mayor's office and the meeting chambers and offices of the Los Angeles City Council. It is located in the Civic Center district of downtown Los Angeles in the city block bounded by Main, Temple, First, and Spring streets, which was the heart of the city's central business district during the 1880s and 1890s. The Observation Deck or Tom Bradley Tower located on the 27th floor is open to the public. Access to City Hall is located off of Main St. The rotunda is located on the 3rd floor accessible by all elevators. To access the Tom Bradley Tower requires the “Express Car Only” for floors 1, 3, and 10 through 22 elevators. Once on the 22nd floor transition to the Gold 22 thru 26 elevator bank. Paul Krekorian
Paul Krekorian (born March 24, 1960) is an American politician, currently serving as the 26th president of the Los Angeles City Council since October 18, 2022. A member of the Democratic Party (United States), Democratic Party, he has represented the Los Angeles City Council District 2, second district on the Los Angeles City Council since 2010. He was previously a member of the California State Assembly, representing the California's 43rd State Assembly district, 43rd Assembly district. Krekorian is the first Armenian American to be elected to office in the city of Los Angeles. Curren De Mille Price, Jr. (born December 16, 1950, in Los Angeles, California) is an American politician of the Democratic Party, currently serving as a Los Angeles city council member for District 9. Price was a California State Senator, representing the state's 26th Senate District which he won in the May 19, 2009 special election to fill the seat vacated by Mark Ridley-Thomas. He previously served as a member of the California State Assembly, representing the state's 51st Assembly District. He was first elected to that position in 2006, and was re-elected in 2008. Los Angeles City Council District 9 is one of the 15 districts of the Los Angeles City Council. The Ninth District encompasses much of South Los Angeles and the western section of Downtown Los Angeles which includes L.A. Live, Crypto.com Arena, and the Los Angeles Convention Center. Marqueece Harris-Dawson
Marqueece Harris-Dawson (born November 7, 1970) is an American politician, who currently represents Los Angeles City Council District 8, the 8th district of the Los Angeles City Council since 2015. Early life and education Harris-Dawson was born and raised in South Central Los Angeles. Councilmember Harris-Dawson grew up in South Los Angeles during the crack cocaine epidemic. His family moved from their neighborhood to protect their children from police and gang violence. Harris-Dawson graduated from Morehouse College with a Bachelor's Degree in Political Science and Mathematics. Monica Rodriguez is an American politician in California. She currently serves as a Los Angeles City Council member, and represents the 7th district. Nithya V. Raman is an American urban planner, activist, and politician serving as the Los Angeles City Councilmember for the 4th District since 2020. Raman, a member of the Democratic Party and the Democratic Socialists of America, defeated incumbent Councilmember David Ryu in 2020. Early life and education Nithya Raman was born in Kerala, India, and moved to Louisiana at 6 years old. She earned a bachelor's degree in political theory from Harvard University then a master's degree in urban planning from MIT.
