Captain (ice Hockey)
In ice hockey, the captain is the player designated by a team as the only person authorized to speak with the game officials regarding rule interpretations when the captain is on the ice. At most levels of play each team must designate one captain and a number of alternate captains (usually two or three) who speak to the officials when the captain is on the bench. Captains wear a "C" on their sweaters, while alternate captains wear an "A". Officially captains have no other responsibility or authority, although they may, depending on the league or individual team, have various informal duties, such as participation in pre-game ceremonies or other events outside the game. As with most team sports that designate captains, the captain is usually a well-respected player and a ''de facto'' team leader. Färjestad Bollklubb (; abbreviated as FBK) is a Swedish professional ice hockey team based in Karlstad. Färjestad has had 21 Swedish Championship final appearances, winning ten times since the Swedish Hockey League (SHL; formerly Elitserien) was started in 1975, making them the most successful SHL club in history. The team plays in the highest Swedish league, and have done so since 1965. Leksands IF
Leksands Idrottsförening is a Swedish ice hockey team from the town of Leksand in the region of Dalarna. The team plays in the top-tier league, SHL, after succeeding through the 2019 SHL qualifiers and thus earning promotion to the SHL. The club's home arena is Tegera Arena, which seats 7,650 spectators. History The club was formed on 13 August 1919, originally playing bandy and ski competitions. In 1920 they also took up football. The first hockey game was played in 1938, when they beat Mora IK 11–0, and this sport is now the only sport the club competes in. Despite the fact that the town of Leksand only has 6,000 inhabitants, Leksands IF is one of the most popular teams in Sweden, and the team averages over 4,000 spectators per game in their home arena despite playing in the second tier. Mattias Karlsson (born April 15, 1985) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player, currently playing with Leksands IF in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Playing career Karlsson turned professional with Brynäs IF in the 2002–03 season and was drafted in the fourth round of the 2003 NHL Entry Draft by Ottawa Senators in NHL. He played for Brynäs through 2004–05, before moving to Almtuna IS in 2005–06, before settling down to one team Bofors IK for the 2006–07 season. Karlsson was tied for the team lead in scoring with 32 points (11 goals) in 2006-07 and added 34 penalty minutes in 44 games. Morten Madsen (born 16 January 1987) is a Danish former professional ice hockey forward who played most notably in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). Playing career Morten Madsen was drafted by the Minnesota Wild in the 4th round, 122nd overall, in the 2005 NHL Entry Draft. After being drafted, Madsen joined the Victoriaville Tigres of the QMJHL for the 2006–07 season. In his lone season in the QMJHL, he registered 32 goals and 68 assists for 100 points in 62 games. In six playoff games with the Tigres, he scored three goals and added six assists in six games. Before entering the QMJHL, he played for Frölunda HC's junior team in Sweden. Before moving to Sweden, he played junior hockey for Danish Rødovre Mighty Bulls as well as two games for Rødovre's senior team at the age of 15. Simon Önerud (born June 16, 1988) is a Swedish professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with HV71 in the Swedish Hockey League (SHL). He has formerly played with Timrå IK and Modo Hockey in the SHL. Playing career In the 2016–17 season, Önerud was amongst the team's leaders in offense. He contributed with 29 points in 37 games and 13 points in 16 post-season games to help lead HV71 to their 5th Le Mat Trophy.
