The Chairperson of Andhra Legislative Council or Chairperson of Andhra Sasana Mandali presides over the upper house of the Andhra Legislature. The Chairperson regulates the debates and proceedings of the House. The office was in existence from 1958 to 1985 and again from 2007 when the Andhra Sasana Mandali has been reconstituted. As of 19 November 2021, the elected Chairperson of the council is Koyye Moshenu Raju. Design The emblem features a Purna Ghataka at the centre encircled by a Dharmachakra symbolising the "wheel of law", portrayed from Amaravati school of arts, surrounded by the name of the state in Telugu, English and Sanskrit. Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council
The Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council or Andhra Pradesh Śāsana Manḍali is the upper house of the legislature of the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and the lower house being the Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly It is situated in the state Legislative capital of Amaravati, and has 58 members. The Sasana Mandali has been in existence in two spells - from 1958 to 1985, and from 2007 continuing till today. A resolution has been passed by AP government for dissolution of the house which awaits parliament ratification. Shariff Mohammed Ahmed
Shariff Mohammed Ahmed is an Indian politician and the Chairman of Andhra Pradesh Legislative Council. He assumed charge on 7 February 2019 and is a member of Telugu Desam Party. His tenure ended on 31 May 2021. Early life Shariff was born to Mohammed Khasim Sharif and hails from Narasapuram in West Godavari district in Andhra Pradesh. He completed his graduation with a Bachelor of Commerce degree from Sri Y N College at Narasapuram. He did Master of Commerce in 1978 and LLB in 1979 from Bhopal University.
