Los Premios MTV Latinoamérica
Premios MTV Latinoamérica (previously known as MTV Video Music Awards Latinoamérica or VMALA's) was the Latin American version of the Video Music Awards. They were established in 2002 to celebrate the top music videos of the year in Latin America and the world. They are presented annually and broadcast live on MTV Networks Latin America. Until 2004, all the VMALAs were held in Miami. The 2005 edition was the first one planned to be held outside the United States, but the show was cancelled ( see below). The 2006 VMALAs (Premios MTV Latinoamérica) were held in Mexico City, and therefore were the first ones to actually be celebrated in Latin America. In 2010 the awards were permanently cancelled. The statues given to winners of the award are called "''Lenguas''" because the statue is of a tongue. This is because, according to MTV, ''"the tongue'' (Spanish language) ''is what brings all Latin America together as a whole".'' History Created in 2002, the VMALAs were held in the Jac ...

2004 MTV Video Music Awards
The 2004 MTV Video Music Awards aired live on August 29, 2004, honoring the best music videos from the previous year. The show took place at the American Airlines Arena in Miami, Florida, and, unlike in previous years, had no host. Background MTV announced on April 16 that the 2004 Video Music Awards would be held on August 29 at the American Airlines Arena in Miami. The move to Miami was partially caused by a date conflict with the 2004 Republican National Convention, which was held from August 30 to September 2 in the VMAs' traditional location of New York City. Nominees were announced on July 27 at a press conference hosted by Missy Elliott and Usher in Miami. At the same press conference, MTV announced that the ceremony would not have a host, partially due to the scale of the venue. The ceremony broadcast was preceded by the ''2004 MTV Video Music Awards Pre-Show by the Shore'', marking the first time since 1990 that the ''Opening Act'' branding was not used for a VMAs pre-sho ...

The song contains influences of electronica, with the lyrics chronicling the protagonist wanting to "come clean" with her love interest, from a strained relationship. "Come Clean" was received by critics with mixed reviews. The song was released on January 12, 2004, as the album's second single. In the United States, the song peaked at number 35, becoming Duff's first top-40 single on the ''Billboard'' Hot 100. It would later go on to become her best-selling single in the United States. However, the song failed to match the success of its predecessor " So Yesterday" in many other countries. It reached number 17 in Australia and number 18 in the United Kingdom while charting within the top 20 in Canada, Ireland, the Netherlands, and New Zealand. A remix of the song by Chris Cox was in ...
